I think EXGH > whatever > lariat > tag combo. is a pretty solid use of meter but i wouldn’t take that as gospel, that’s just my scrubby guesstimate
Anti airs other than RBG? Lariat seems fairly bad for it.
Man once you get someone in the corner with gief, they stay there as long as you know what you’re doing. That runnimg bear grab is just to good, it really is in the top 5 moves of this game at least.
Balrog/Gief is really fun so far.

I’m really having a ton of fun getting people to block Lariats and locking them down for tag stuff. It feels like Haggar in Vanilla Marvel 3
Seems like air-to-air into a combo if your air-to-air doesn’t trade is the way to go for the most part.
ex gh > cl.mp > far.mp>st.mk>st.rh/kkk lariat > tag is a good punish.
in the corner you get 3 close normals so its st.mp > st.mp > st.mk > ppp lariat/kkk lariat > tag.
Is it just me or can you not link st lp lp lk into ex green hand?
-ex properties the entire duration of the move
-incredible range
-incredible damage
-you lands right on top of opponent for wake up
care to suggest something better than that?
EX Rbg does preform it’s grab check on frame 4 as opposed to frame 8 for non-Ex.
Are there any good picks for partners for Zangief yet?
I was messing about with Rolento today but I’m not really sure how to get in with him properly.
anyone with really good tag in damage and a high juggle for gief to come in and get a kkk lariat > ppp lariat or headbutt > whatever really…
i currently use poison/zangief it’s probably not the best team but poison just seems to fit for some reason she can chip people with her fireballs and tag in zangief to let her rest and begin the Russian Style Beatdown not to mention she builds meter quite well

None of his normal standing moves hit mid, as far as I know.
On another note, anyone have any idea why the Brady guide says to use Quick Lariat to get through projectiles? I swear that in training mode it didn’t appear to have any projectile vulnerability. Quite a nerf, imo.
After playing the two, I’ve decided to go with Hugo over Gief, so if you want to take over the thread Vidd, you can, otherwise I’ll leave it open for someone else to. I’d still like to second Gief but I’m sure there’s someone more dedicated to him than that.

I think seeing as there’s a whole subforum for 'gief and the game’s been out for a few days, that it’d be nice if had threads for combos, match data, partners etc. I’ve already made a video thread but surely there are some people that have been playing since the American launch with some data to share.
When I think ‘zangief thread’, I think Vidd, then UltraDavid, to give you an idea.
I don’t know but it was probably an oversight considering the quick lariat is not listed as having projectile invuln. (it only has lower body I think).
It’s probably only good to go through low tiger shot.
