I used to have my Itouch jailbroken, but for some reason I felt bad about getting this shit for free.
By the way: The Creeps is now $0.99, I highly recommend this for a Tower Defense. And it just received a big update.
Got a couple of games this morning:
Kids vs Zombies ($0.99) (Lite version available)
Itunes Store link
The concept is simple. You have 3 kids on the bottom of the screen with different weapons and you have to utilize each one to to survive waves of different zombies.
Your three weapons are: Machine gun (which overheats to prevent you from spamming it), long range slingshot, and short range grenade launcher. As you kill zombies and surivive of couyrse you get money to upgrade your weapons, your fort, the AI of the two kids you’re not controller at the time, and others.
It plays nicely. The slingshot is a little hard to utilize (even though it will be your main weapon for the early stages), or maybe it was just me but I found aiming to be difficult. Maybe I Just have to get used to it. I was plesantly surprised to see you don’t select a character and stick with him, you switch through any of them at any time, the other 2 will be AI controlled while you play with one.
I recommend it, it just dropped to $0.99 this morning and it’s good simple fun. I’m sure the fun factor for me will increase once I get the hang of the slingshot aim.
Sparta ($0.99) (lite version available)
of the game in action.
This plays very much like ZombieVille USA. Two arrows control directions and you have your 3 attack buttons on the right (shield block, Sparta Kick, and sword swipe. Your job is to defend Sparta so you fight off against waves of thieves, rebellious peasants, and persians. You get armor/weapon upgrades for beating stages and move on to more difficult waves.
Unfortunately this was disappointing. The game looks great, the concept is fun but the execution…well in the control department it’s lacking. The controls lag. You push the attack button and it doesn’t always respond, or you get a half swipe that doesn’t do shit to the enemy. But the real problem is the directional input. Often you will have your finger off the arrow yet your Hero is still marching forward and will do so until you stop him. So basically you try to position yourself to attack but when you stop, he keeps going and marches right into a lovely band of persians. Not the greatest strategy for Sparta’s hero.
It’s too bad because were those controls fixed, the game would be lots of fun. I understand it’s Pocket Monkey Gaming’s first game so I have confidence these are issues that will be fixed through a patch (at least, I hope so).
Quick note: Zenonia is to be submitted to the Itunes store tomorrow (May 15th), so watch for that, it will be $5.99 but I think it’s worth it for a 40 hour rpg.
Valaris…I should’ve never listened to you…Peggle is so simplistic that it’s actually fun…I’m addicted to it…lol…but really…I do like it…something a little different…

Clue
Ea is bringing the age old board game to the iphone.
Screenshots make it look very interesting, I’ll be watching out for this one. It’s got a very Phoenix Wright-ish vibe to it.
And
Trailer looks like fun and the art is really damn well done.
Edit #3: Wolfenstein RPG?
creeps is good rec  i already have a TD game but i picked it up anyways since its only $1.
rolando looks like a really good puzzle game. i played the lite version and liked it, i might get the full.
i really liked the puzzle quest trial. the only thing thats really stopping me from buying the full is the OMG EIGHT DOLLARS, but theres supposedly over 40 hours of gameplay so i might get it anyways.
im trying not to get carried away both with spending and playing (yesterday i spent the time i was going to play sf4 with screwing around with mobile games…) but theres a lot of good stuff out there and it feels like, excluding piracy, you get what you pay for with these apps. strangely enough i also feel bad about getting this stuff for free, and i dont even LIKE apple.
I counted yesterday and I have about 50$ worth of apps on my Ipod touch right now.
But soon it’s going to be a lot more:
Apps I want that I’m just waiting for a Price drop:

Thanks. I must’ve missed that.
Edit: Anyone played Chronicles of Inotia: Legend of Feanor? It justed dropped to $2.99 and I’m consdiering it. I’d just like a review from here first.
Edit #2: at the same time, anyone knows an app to “bookmark” apps which you’re waiting for a price drop? I used pandora’s box but it sucks.
This game is like crack as well…lol…
Non-Game app must have: iFitness
I’ve returned to doing weight training and this app is wonderful. It has exercises, routines, instructions and the ability to create your own routines plus it tracks your work. Crazy stuff, I cannot stop raving about the app and its only $1.99. I would have paid up to $10 or even $20 for this.
Alright so I played some Chronicles of Inotia: Legend of Feanor ($2.99) (lite version available)
It controls/feels/looks a lot like RO. You point to the destination and your character moves to it, you point to an enemy and he auto-attacks while you use his special skills.
Overall a good game. I’ve seen a lot of reviews taking away from the controls but I have absolutely no problem with them. It’s precise and your character doesn’t go for the longest out of 2 paths when reaching his destination. You start off in a tiny village and you get quests to get you exploring. Each area is randomly generated every time you walk in.
The way the game is made, it forces you to thoroughly level up in one area before moving to the next. The difficulty level from one screen to another changes drastically yet it seems sometimes that 1 level makes all the difference in the world. If you die you get taken back to the village and suffer an EXP loss.
I’m enjoying it. I think it was well worth the $3 since I’ve played a little over 3 hours now, in one sitting. It will do nicely to last me until Zenonia is released (it was submitted to Apple yesterday so now we just need to wait until they upload it…which could take up to the 25th).
The racing games on iphone make me seasick.
Oh man great thread! I used to have my iPod touch jailbroken when I got it (1st gen) but I noticed it started getting laggy after awhile. Anyways, recently upgraded the firmware and actually started downloading stuff for it instead of just leaving it in my car as my music player.
Thanks for the tougharcade link Valaris, very helpful for me.
My most played game is Blocked; iono bout you guys but its like crack for me
