I think you misunderstand (or maybe I do). I hella respect Gary’s abilities. It’s just like I like to see. People using match-up knowledge to completely shut an opponent down rather than let them walk all over them because someone didn’t do their homework. And I didn’t mean to imply that’s all Gary used when I said gunshot/jump+C. I mean that, because of what he brought to the table in terms of knowledge, he didn’t NEED anything else.

Yo, I’m an Iowan that is in the Navy, lived in Virginia for the past 5 years, back in Waterloo/Cedar Falls area, I leave for Japan on saturday, was wondering if anyone wanted to do some casuals before I left. I play Tekken mainly, but I know how to play AE and Marvel. My KoF is… scrubby. Anyone wanna game? I’m willing to drive to dubuque, CR, or IC.
Tekken player WHAT!!! I’m down, kid. I live in CR. Um… I do have tomorrow off but work Thursday through Monday. If you wanna get games in tomorrow, though, let me know. I’m always itching to play Tekken. lol Plus, I think I’m like the only Iowa Tekken player left aside from when the DBQ guys randomly play.
I’m down, is there any way you could gather up any other CR players so its more worth my trip down there? Obviously we can play more than Tekken. For Tekken… not really, unless the DBQ guys want to come down and play, but I’m thinking they won’t, lol. We do have some SC players, though, but that would be a late-night thing. PS3 is what we play on, so no worries.
I’m perfectly fine with adding KoF to the main roster; I didn’t realize enough people were playing it. Like I said in the event announcement, though, anything is game, but I don’t want to list a game as a “main event” when only 2 people are gonna play. But if at least 2 people show up ready to play it, we’ll run something for it. Which means if people want to play KoF, we can play KoF…
Also, I can’t reschedule unless we’re going to delay the monthly until March: Can’t do it next weekend, then I’m out of town for the two weekend following that. So, only the 25th is open for me. As much as I’d like to avoid overlap, I’m still running this on the 25th. That way, at least CR/DBQ can get in on some action.
I’m in for KOF. And I’ll have a setup capable of each tourney game (SF/KOF/MVC/SC5) along with tourney-legal DLC. If KOF doesn’t get set as a main event, I’ll run it as a side tourney with a $5 entry fee, drop out of the other tourneys, and devote all my time to it if needs be. In other words, it’ll be run.
So, KOF players, now you need to show up and play it. Because we have enough communities that don’t support their shit, and if you do the same here I’ll be seriously fucking disappointed.

Side Story, I bought SC5 tonight at Best Buy. There was a tall skinny guy with really long hair, a big black trench coat and sun glasses on(inside the store) holding the game. I said, “Hey, looks like we’re here for same reason.” I was going to ask him if he was down for the competitive scene, but he just slowly looked up at me, said nothing, and walked away. I was too weirded out to ask him if he’d like to come to an event.
Yeah, I’ll play some MK, Austin. Also, Tyson should be there and last time I talked to him he said he had a couple of people who wanted to show up for these things as well. Can’t remember if they were MK or MvC…
I’m playing Asta. BTW, we’re going to be playing SC lots, so if it’s something you’re going to get into, you should chill with us and get some sessions in.
