Aw shi- Finally crawled out of the hole in the ground I call work. Now that UMVC3 is out and my team isn’t shit I’m probably going to start showing up to tournies and be a “Pot Monster” again.

Hey im a des moines umvc3 player and other random fighting game player, played some ssfIV, guilty gear, killer instinct(lol) some of the tekkens but nothing recently… you guys running tournaments up in Ames weekly or something? Been looking for somewhere to play against people IRL and not the online lagfest.

I know this is last minute and it’s a bit of a drive to Milwaukee but I figured I’d post here anyways in case anyone is interested. Next Saturday is The Fight Before Christmas. We have a really nice venue with 0 venue fee. There is a full bar and tons of pool tables stuff to do between matches. They also have pretty good pizza and there is a Mexican restaurant inside the venue. There are also other food options near the venue ranging form Vietnamese to fast food. If any of you want to travel to this we’d be glad to have you. If you have any questions PM me.
I’d love to make it to one of these, but it’s a 3.5 hour drive for Dubuque alone. Anyone else in the state is hitting 5 hours at least. 
If I can convince Madison to let me drive up and tag along with them sometime, it’ll be a possibility.
Looking forward to UMVC3 and SSF4AE this Tuesday. I know it’s taboo to like the latter, but every time I play I enjoy it more. Dunno why. 
It’s definitely worth checking out. Considering the bulk of Wisconsin’s players are located here. We have a great venue too and best of all no venue fee.

…goddamn, son. ST = Super Street Fighter II Turbo. HDR = the ST rebalance/remake that Sirlin wiped his bloody dick on after anally raping ST.
Edit - And I’m not trying to be mean to ya. Just didn’t expect “what’s ST” on a forum devoted to, more than anything else, Street Fighter.
I went 0-2 in everything at the charity tourney in Ames, like a boss.

Last night was a good indication that any one of us can take the tourney. Especially during round-robin. Alex and Blake beat me, Jackie beats Alex and nearly beats Blake (dropped input ahoy), Olli beats everyone but me, and Adam gets swept in round-robin but beats Jackie in King of the Hill and puts on a good show against Alex before Captain AMERICA FUCK YEAH stepped in. Truth be told, if my Haggar didn’t get lamed out in round-robin and force me to warm Thor up for finals, I would’ve lost the tourney.
In short, everyone’s a killer, and I love it.

I doubt our little scene here will get into KOFXIII. That said, I wouldn’t be against the idea of having a Saturday tournament in town with UMVC3, SSF4AE, and KOFXIII.
