It’s one of the 8 majors that are part of the Evo “season.” It’s in Ohio and it’ll be pretty big. Bill and I know some folks in Ohio, so it’s just more incentive for us to go.

Sup, Iowa? SRK noob here. Joined mainly to see if there was a fighting game scene here in Iowa at all. Playing a lot of MVC3 since it came out and I need some opponents! I have like 4 friends that play and they would be interested in casuals or tournaments in the area. Hope you guys go easy on us if we decide to show up! We are noobs after all

DBQ MVC3 Weekly Tourney #2 results:

Some fun and seriously close games. Round robin was this giant bag of crazy. I beat everyone but Olli, Olli beats everyone but Blake, Blake loses to Bill and I, and Bill loses to Olli and I. It was a fucking logic problem and a half figuring out who seeded where for king of the hill. I needed three goddanmed cows and two trains moving in different directions, fuggin’el. Then, in king of the hill, Blake goes up 2-0 on Bill, Bill brings it back to 2-2, and puts the last match down to the wire before Blake takes the first upset. And then Blake and I have a match where I really don’t remember either of us losing a character before time ran out, even though Ryu was down to less than 10% life for AT LEAST FIFTY EFFING SECONDS. ON POINT. And then I took a revenge upset in finals on Olli for making my Team Bewbs look free in round robin. All in all, awesome night.
Also, equipment fund gained $15 to bring the total to $26. That’s about 1/8 of the first goal: one of the Asus VH236 monitors (aka “the Evo monitors”). After that’s met, I’ll either nix the equipment fund and buy a PS3 myself or see if people want to have a PS3 be the next goal.
Sorry but my bionic arm doesn’t believe in going easy.
Marvel 3 plays well enough on the new TV, there’s very slight lag but not game breaking since it’s a chain combo game after all. We tested out HDR and while playable, I think I’ll still stick to the CRT with that. Also I am balls at that game now.
On the career note - just interviewed for a nice job and I feel pretty good about this. I answered all of the questions spot on and it just felt good. I’ll know for sure in two weeks whether I get hired or not, and then if so I’ll transfer a week or two after that. That puts me right at the beginning of May so UFGT will still be in the air, not sure if they’d want me taking vacation a month after getting hired, but if I do get this job then the vacation that I’ve acrued will still be there since it’s Wells Fargo. Wish me luck!
