The Wal-Mart in grimes is having a midnight mvc3 tourney david, just thought I would let you know if you wanted a free copy of the game. Yeah i’m pretty sure you would either be the only person or rape the other entrants that hard.
Did anyone check if the 73rd St one or Mills Civic one is doing it?
I just checked both of them. The 73rd st one wasn’t sure, they just said “Yeah the game will be out at midnight.” I checked the only one in west des moines, which was on stagecoach drive, they said no because their location isn’t open 24/7. So then it’s only grimes and ankeny I guess.
73rd St Wal-Mart starts getting scary around 9:00 pm… wouldn’t want to step foot in there at midnight…
I have permission from the wife to have some people over. I think I already have more people confirmed than space will allow. It’s going to be really tight (space wise, but it will be pretty “tight” as well).
I’m hoping to get rid of my monstrous TV and foosball table so hopefully in the future I will have more room so I can have more people over. Also hoping to clean out the other side of the basement and semi-finish that space as well. I wouldn’t mind hosting a 20 person tournament some day.

Xiang - If there’s time, I don’t see any reason why there couldn’t be an impromptu MVC3 tourney with a $5 or less entry fee. I don’t think one should be scheduled, but I do think one should be done if possible.
Also, I guarantee that myself and anyone showing up from SRK will be the only people playing SSFIV, so I’m pretty sure we’ll have time. 
Who actually got to go out last night to the Wal-Mart tourneys? I had a sick dog to take care of so I didn’t get out before the tournaments started at 9
I went as did Blank, Joker, C. Love, and a few random others. In total the tourney had 6 or 7 entrants I think, C. Love won. I had no Idea that it was supposed to start at 9 or that you had to call and pre-register, so much to my dismay I showed up around 11 to try stuff out before the tourney and it was already over. A few other randoms showed up too, there were these 2 guys talking about fightsticks so I asked them if they had ever been to srk and they said yes, so then I told them to make an account and go to the Iowa thread…we’ll see if they actually post I guess.
I stayed for an hour and a half and played games with blank and joker and a few of the randoms that showed up After that Rob and Travis came out to buy a copy and then we went over to Rob’s place and played MVC3 till like 5. It was a great night even though I didn’t get to play in the tourney.
Ah yeah I told Curtis on IRC last night that if he was going that he had to leave soon (about 8?) to make it there by 9 but he said he wasn’t going. I’m glad you had fun though, did anyone seem serious about playing or are they just the “meh I’m interested and while I say I want to get serious OMMMMGGGGG NEW CALL OF DOODIE”.

Good shit to Bryon and David last night. I’m going to have a lot of fun with this game. I like how both of you had a designated character in the “random” slot, Bryon’s being Haggar and David’s being Tronn.
That was disturbing. Out of all the characters in the roster. We played maybe 5-6 matches and I got Tron in random 3 times.
This game is pretty fun, but I really don’t know a thing about it. I’m gonna try and read SRK’s guide today if I have the time.
It’s pretty good, still a bit basic right now but it helped me a lot. I was hoping you were watching me play that guy when you were in the lobby, damn near perfected him
Speaking of lobbies, am I right in thinking when you join you push Y (xbox) to “save your spot” in line or something? And if there’s no spectating I may only join a lobby that has max 3 people, not a fan of watching cards hump each other.
Sorry, turns out I can’t get off work this Sunday. I’ll try for the next Cedar Rapids tourney.
