Ok, so that tourney in Cedar Rapids got moved up to the 29th of January. Apparently Mt. Mercy doesn’t approve of events that draw non-students or some crap like that, so we won’t get a full room like we initially planned. Instead, we’ll use the space that we normally play casuals at. Good news is, there definitely won’t be any sort of venue fee. We’ll probably have two setups to run our stuff on, but it might be dropped to one depending on how big Smash gets, and honestly that’s all we need. Again, the thread with all vital details:

Also, what system do you prefer to have SSF4/BB on?
There’s really no information about the SF4 aspect of this event. Do you think there’s going to be more specifics as time goes on because with an event 2 miles from my apartment, it’s tough to refuse if only to meet with the players of the area.
Everything about the non smash stuff-- either I’ve already said or we’ll decide at the event itself. Not sure what else you need to know. It’s all standard stuff, Double Elimination, best 2/3 rounds each game, best 2/3 games each match, any character, winner must stay with a character (but they can change ultra), loser may switch character. WF, LF, GF will be 3/5 games. As far as pot split, we can decide that there. I don’t know what the turnout will be.
I plan to go.
As for system ---- I’m guessing that Xbox 360 would be fine? If it’s not really gonna draw a lot of people from outside besides maybe smashers, it really wouldn’t matter. Plus, most of us have 360 anyways.
I’ll be sitting this one out honestly. Having just spent more money than i intended to in chicago. That and honestly the only games I’ll be working on in the foreseeable future are VS and ST. Once marvel 3 comes out I’ll be all over that as well. But for now I’m dropping CS. I just don’t care about that game with CS2 out there, especially since it is impossible to practice the changes to hazama in CS1.
I may still pop in super now and again, but really i feel the same way about it as I do with CS now that AE is floating out there.
All that being said, we should really plan some kind of gathering for MvC3’s release.
This brought a tear to my eye… I’m so happy!

As for Marvel 3, I’m going to try and go in with an open mind to it. I can already say I’m not looking to compete and be the best at it, but I can see myself having fun with it. I still haven’t decided on who my “ideal” third is. Right now it’s Deadpool (I can’t not play him, even if he turns out to be bad), Super Skrull, and Blank.

We all know Charlie’s gonna go the safe route and pick Ryu so that he’ll have 2 characters in his roster that have a shoryuken.

Oh, thanks for replying David. And actually system does matter precisely because we might draw smashers. They prefer PS3 (obv. they play on pad), at least for BB anyway.
