Wesker: anytime he touches a char its most likely gonna be phantom to inferno reset; Skrull: if Wesker dies, is sitting on level 2 xf and if he has 2 bars as well, imagine catching a char and their assist w/ a crossup meteor smash+inferno dhc sphere flame+xfactor, enough to kill off both char and if there’s 1 left, level 2 xf Skrull w/ Plasma Beam is waiting their arrival. Doom: Loving this man on anchor.

Skrull building that meter for Storm, E Slam = call Storm, dash Stomp, j. ad dH, dash S, j.MMHS, call Sent, Meteor, M Meteor, Inferno. Assists love dat inferno dhc hailstorm and point chars love dat Inferno dhc hailstorm+gaia. Plus, you’ve got the dhc glitch should anything happen to Kl’rt.
why stomp in a combo? Just cuz? I love skrull and drones. I don’t like orbital grudge assist though, it doesn’t have armor on startup right? I guess it can be decent for a pressure assist.
Ever since I heard about umvc3 I’ve completely disregarded DHC glitch. I don’t take mvc3 seriously competitively anymore. I still love the marvel series, and I played and supported my marvel scene while it was out, but I’m dam glad that it’s over.
Stomp keeps them grounded long enough for typhoon to hit, idk whirlwind doesn’t really do anything for Skrull so I just use typhoon as a combo extender for Skrull and Sent. Ya I’m moving away from the dhc glitch as I main Wesker/Skrull/Doom now instead of the other team.
After seeing some MODOK combo videos with him and Haggar and then watching Richard Nguyen use Dante with Haggar, I thought of a concept utilizing skrull’s loop combo with the d.H into S off a successful haggar assist knockdown. My imagined team would be Skrull/ Haggar/ Taskmaster (or doom) with whatever assist for skrull/ lariat/ horizontal arrows (doom beam). This team in this order would allow skrull to play offensively or defensively based on the 2 assists available. I think skrull can get a possible command grab if you throw out a lariat to scare your opponent and then do the loop combo into skrull torch upwards DHC into higher Body Press which will get extra damage from the height and Task arrows if you need a 3rd DHC. This team is also designed that if skrull was to die and you have haggar coming in, then at least he is not stuck as your weak anchor and has a ranged assist to help him get in on any character. If haggar gets a hit, he can combo and DHC into Task or Doom and then you have haggar as a nice assist. If haggar dies, then you at least have a pretty decent anchor with both being very fast and good at zoning if needed. (I chose Task/Doom because I try avoiding Wesker, Magneto, Wolverine, Sentinel and of course Phoenix) I think you can sub in Wesker as your anchor because he’s a really good anchor in my opinion, but haggar will probably just die easily and if you like Sentinel then I think he can be a good anchor still after haggar which I think compliment each other decently and have a nice DHC. Let me know if any of this works out
I forgot to mention, that if you like the lariat assist into easy skrull combo then you can risk having haggar as anchor and have skrull DHC trick into whoever works like wesker. That should be an easy kill on most characters and then just repeat the strategy except vs phoenix teams, you have rush in and snap her in and hopefully get a air command grab
I’m liking Magneto/Skrull/Sent. Even with his good resets, I feel like Skrull uses up more meter than he builds. With that in mind I wanted a character that was good at building meter, and Magneto builds meter better than anyone else in the game. I feel like Mag/Sent is a team all in its own and so is Skrull/Sent. Drones just help both characters out immensely. Magneto being able to start the DHC glitch (and Skrull and Sent being able to end it) is just icing on the cake
Skrull can’t rush down and he definitely can’t defend against it either, characters like zero and wolverine murder him free. Sent drone assist takes care of both problems they make his specials safe on block so he can approach and they help give some breathing room so it’s easily is best assist.
IMO no matter what team he’s on skrull should always be on point. Lvl3 xf helps him a lot more than most characters and he does need meter but he just doesn’t have the tools to be a good anchor by himself he needs all the assist help he can get.
I tend to disagree here. Skrull is a monster with lvl 3 XF, easily able to OCV entire teams. While this may be the case for most of the cast, there aren’t many characters who benefit from the speed boost as much as Skrull, making his normally slow and risky moves practically safe. With XF available, you basically get a free kill with M Elastic Slam > XFC > H Elastic Slam. The reason that he’s not among the best anchors is solely that his assists are nothing but poor combo extenders IMHO.
Skrull imo is better as 2nd or 3rd on team’s. he’s fine for a 2nd if he can get into the DHC glitch, however outside of that, you need to be close to the opponent. both his supers have a hard time connecting at some points. Torch scales and doesn’t do much damage while infernal basically needs to be close as i mentioned.
As 3rd can can combo just like akuma can (orbital grudge) or with stone smite, he can create interesting combos…
I don’t like skrull on point, even with assit covering him and helping with mixups, it just feels gimmicky and people tend to pick up on his shit.
Oh and even though I fucking hate Haggar he is skrulls best friend, gives you a hard knock down and allows you to loop or w/e you want.
You just basically proved my point, you’re relying on xf to make skrull good, I’d much rather have access to all his crossup and reset gimmicks as wel las be able to freely rushdown without wasting XF. Besides xf3 sent is pretty good I hear.
In umvc3 what new skrull teams will emerge? I’d like to try some combinations of skrull, IF, nova, and doom.

How did I prove your point? You practically said that Skrull wasn’t a good anchor and the two posts after yours provided arguments why he can be a good anchor. Skrull does very well against common anchors like Akuma or Domammu and completely destroys Sentinel. Besides, why wouldn’t you have access to resets when he’s on the last spot of your team? But don’t get me wrong, I prefer playing Skrull on point, too. It’s just that not all hope is lost when you put him on 2nd or 3rd spot
Don’t know where to put Skrull in UMvC3. For me, it totally depends on the assists of the new characters.

Apparently you don’t watch streams otherwise you’d know XF3 sent still chips people better then most in Vanilla.
So far of the new cast IF dragon kick assist seems like skrull’s best friend.
Better than most = Better than the bottom half of the tiers
Even FChamp dropped Sent and he was arguably one of the best Sents up there with Fanatiq. If you want to do chip damage (assuming they didn’t save their XF which they usually do) then you’re better off with someone like Taskmaster.
Also I would argue that RR’s log trap will probably be IF good but attached to a better character.

Hey guys, I want to pick up a Skrull team for Ultimate, possibly as my main team for tournaments. I’m currently using Skrull/Taskmaster/Spencer, but I’m not sure about the anchor slot. I’m really happy with Skrull/Task as a duo, but I don’t think Spencer’s assist (Slant Shot) really helps Skrull out as much.
What kind of character really helps Skrull out, what type of assist should I be looking for?
It’s nice you want to play skrull but it’s rude to ask such a question because it shows you haven’t read the thread to see if it’s been answered already it’s only 3 pages.
He gets raped by anyone with decent rushdown and even though it’s going to be nerfed haggar assist will still be the best GTFO me assist. In vanilla he has a poor air game and while air MS buff will help a lot he’ll still have a hard time vs airborne opponents so hidden missiles, purification, and jam session are great for him. Most of his specials are unsafe on block so he needs a cover assist that makes them safe and lets him approach like I said before sent drones are the best for this purpose because they help offensively and defensively but beams like em disruptor, unibeam, and plasma beam are great too.
I haven’t used it yet since I just thought about it but mystic ray is great too because it otg’s for extended combos, is a true full screen beam so even if they super jump it will hit them and give skrull the chance to go on the offensive without worrying about being punished, and acts as a GTFO me assist. Mystic ray+ air MS crossups could be very evil in UMVC3 I’ll definitely have to test it out.
Of the new cast chain of rebuttal which is basically ghost rider’s version of a full screen beam has obvious synergy with skull as well as iron fists’s dragon kick which may end up as the new broken assist or at the very least one of the best in UMVC3.
Thank you kindly for the help, I should’ve read more in-depth. I’m experimenting with Skrull/Task/Dante right now, seeing how Haggar’s assist is getting nerfed in Ultimate. I find that Task’s arrows are a pretty good projectile so I’ll stick with that.
