How does Vergil fare in the anchor slot with Dorm/Skrull? I suppose I should just play around and find some stuff out but I’d like some additional info.
I don’t main skrull, but i think best skrull team should have sentinel. Skrull/Sent/Akuma - Skrull/Ammy/Sent - X/Skrull/Sent etc.
Anyone have any experience with Skrull and Spencer? The more I play juggling my Skrull teams around, the more I realize Spencer plays well with almost everyone thanks to wire grapple extensions/resets and numerous DHC options.
Skrull is extremely good with resets solo (although a wire grapple reset into elastic slam seems like a good tactic), so I decided to spend some lab time looking for clever ways to extend combos. The best I’ve come up with so far is that grapple lets you execute a fully charged smite or sweep in the middle of a ground combo. Since both of these moves already OTG, I don’t think that adds much value over just launching normally and using sweep/smite for follow-ups.
I’m kindof looking for other creative ideas. One I came up with is going for an immediate ground combo (and possible launch) after flame sweep OTG, because my only extenders after a sweep typically involve going straight into a jc inferno or doing a jc air combo that includes light attacks which add unnecessary HSD. I don’t really know if this even helps in situations outside of those that involve me using my ground or wall bounces earlier than I normally would (e.g. starting off of a jump-back dunk) since the more “standard” Skrull tactics of using a bunker into relaunch or smite into dunk work fairly well as-is. The other idea I had was trying to tag a fully charged smite on after an OTG sweep, which may allow me to add some damage on top of the smite->dunk->hook->meteor sequence I’ve seen discussed a few times (my timing for that still needs work as it is).
Any other recommendations?
Midscreen Flame Sweep > Slant Shot Assist > Elastic Grab.
One of the reasons I like Skrull/Spencer.
Thinking of a second team Skrull/Iron man(mediocre with both), Strange & Morrigan. Skrull fuck shit up on this team why morrigan supplies meter for strange or skrull simply no assist calling.
so i have a new team that i am trying out and i think if i could master them it would be a fantastic team.
the team is firebrand (swoop) skrull (tend) sent (drones up)
do you guys have any tips ?
can wait until part 2 of skull guide =)
I’m working on a new team, and I was curious to see what opinions people had on a point character for x/Task (H arrow)/Skrull (Tend). I have a short list of potentials i’m considering, but I’m interested in what other people think would be the best fit and why. I have a tendency to think too long and practice too little… So I appreciate any help or comments
Really just about anyone who doesn’t require an anti-air or OTG assist would be effective on that team. Wesker, Firebrand, Wolverine, and Spencer to name a few. If you’re not totally stuck on tenderizer and willing to use smite instead, Captain America fits great on that team. Really it’s whatever suits your playstyle best. If it were me with that team I’d probably look for the mixup/rushdown character that was the most fun to play and try to work that in since you already have the tools to make that successful (projectile, lockdown).
Was heavily considering viper or firebrand, but I wasn’t sure if I would be getting too gimmicky with the lockdown+unblockable move thing… then again, is that really an issue? Unblockable is unblockable, right? And I suppose that having to avoid the tenderizer altogether would force people into bad/predictable positions.
I don’t really see it as an issue. Both of those chars are fun to play, and unblockable is unblockable. Learning to be effective with Viper takes a lot of lab hours, so FB may be easier to plug in to that team for immediate success. My biggest problem in doing the whole Tenderizer/unblockable setup was that I got too excited to get the process started and didn’t think about things like keeping Skrull safe. I wasn’t trying to keep my opponent in blockstun prior to calling the assist, and Skrull would eat an opponent’s beam/projectile/assist while I tried to get into a position to use my unblockable (in Viper’s case since it’s close-range this resulted in a happy birthday for my opponent once or twice). Regardless even without that trick you have a strong team. There are other things to do besides unblockables with either of those teams that are plenty effective.
That’s a really good point about lab hours. Realistically I don’t have as many as I’d like recently, so I think I’m going to give Firebrand an honest shot. Always liked messing around with him, but his damage was so low. I’ll just have to focus more on resets. Thanks for the insight.
i just started doing my labs all over again was busy working but now =) alll yeah
by the way the FB ,Skrull ,sent team fantastic
Seems like an all-around great team. Drones for Brand even though his mobility is already excellent and you have the tenderizer unblockable and if you got meter you can do the team infinite which is one dirty tactic to do. Plus even if Brand dies, you got Skrull with Drones with is by far one of the best teammates Skrull can have.
i agree skrull and sent is like doom and strider
get that extra GB with sent drone meteor smash with skrull
That combo takes a while to learn the timing, but it’s a pretty solid 700k combo. I’m pretty sure in the corner you’re able to do much more though. I’d say do the the double ground bounce if you grabbed them near the corner.
another easy and effective tactic to look into is skrull with hulk gamma charge (ground assist) gives easy 50/50 mix ups with jump air dash (crossup) stone dunk while having hulk come out on the ground provides an almost instant mix up plus any skrull combo into hulk dhc is pretty much death for 90% of the cast. its an easy mix up to catch people off guard but you just have to be careful about being airthrown. im experimenting with a thor skrull hulk team now skrull stone smite assist works great with thor allowing him to otg after an air combo, or even get 2 mighty tornados in one combo consistantly but thats my hush hush secret tec
thinking about playing spencer/task/skrull…in no particular order
can anyone show me or tell me anything assist wise, that this team can do
i would test stuff myself, but im not by my xbox right now
Thats my team lol but i use tenderizers for reasons with frank and ammy that you will discover later. that team is very powerful, can work backwards, and can be played fast or slow. it all depends on how you use it
i was actually trying that and my second bounce is rolling out.i saw your video to add the throw but i am still having the same issue. saw you ussg 2 by the way found it awesome watching it again
My team is constructed around skrull. My three characters are Taskmaster/Hawkeye/Super-Skrull. I use any of them on point. If I use hawkeye on point, skrull’s assist becomes Tenderizer. A regular ABCS hawkeye combo followed by an OTG along with Tenderizer, it’s a good reset setup, you can even insert a couple of rusty nails or poison tips during the tendrizer. If taskmaster or skrull are on point, I use the Stone smite assist. Taskmaster can have extended combos with stone smite. DHC setups are very compatible; maybe not so much mid screen. So far it has worked out well.
