Well, at least is a Konami game so who knows…

BTW, this world needs more Ranma love :frowning:

Agreed. We need Ranma in a fighting game that doesn’t suck.

Mecha-zawa with Freddie assist bitches!

I just Wiki’d weekly shounen magazine

there are actually alot of badass series that were in the magazine

Hope some getbackers characters make it in. Kamen Rider would be pretty awesome too

Flame of Recca…THAT WOULD BE SIIIIIIIIIIICK

give me ringo or give me death

But, there’s no way this is coming to the US, right?

I could see it if Tokyopop was the only problem (hell they LOVE to fund anything with all their might if it gets popular).
But Del Rey doesn’t seem the type to want minimal pay.

Also Nagi and Kenichi are Magneto tier.

Hell yeah.

Activate Ryusui Seikuken
walk forward
win

It’s not likely in the least.

For the same reason that games like the DS Shonen Jump games, Fate: UC and TvC are not likely to come here: licensing difficulties.

For the relatively few series that could stand to be licensed in this game (like Conan and Inuyasha), that would be enough to stop Konami from really doing much to pursue a Western release.

It would be nice if they could do these games in a serious style instead of some light-hearted way.

give it an actual plot and cutscenes ala dissidia

No. Give it actual, solid fighting game mechanics, something we could build a tier list around, varied and useful movelists, blood and while it should still be in anime style, it should be grittier than the cutesy, deformed crap before it.

the roster contains psychic little schoolgirls, a little robot wearing a goddamn school uniform and a child prodigy magician, and you want it to be gritty?

wow!!! natsu from fairy tail!! that guy IS pure win

I dunno if you guys are aware, but “shonen” means this is for kids. Not saying it can’t be good but the odds of it being “gritty” are slim to none. And why does everything have to be “gritty” to be cool now days anyways?

The damn thing has nudity, a few implications of rape, blood and demon genocide. Not to mention the fanservice! And guys are trying to tell me, look out for the children? Please.

And no, everything doesn’t have to be gritty to be cool. But it should take a few notches than the earlier titles.

I’m talking about Inyasha, BTW.

I’m not telling you to “look out” for anyone. The japanese have some different ideas about sex than we do, which is why stuff like that shows up in kids stuff sometimes, and demon genocide is ok cuz they’re demons and they’re bad, that’s the same way here. All I’m saying is if you’re expecting this to be sin city or something you’ll probably be disappointed.

Inuyasha was a manga/anime intended to help Japanese children get interested in and learn a little about Japanese folklore. As with most any folklore system, there’s some stuff in it that sensitive people could find objectionable for children at this point, but again, Japanese people have different attitudes about this stuff than we do.

Again, the game could be good, but it’s aimed squarely at children, as are the publications that these characters come from, so don’t expect too much “grit”.

Rather see a new jump game for the DS but this ain’t bad i mean its got the zetai karen girls.

Agreed, to a point.

After all, it’s not just children who love the various franchises from these two Shonen mags, it’s more of “E for Everyone” type of thing, especially since a number of people have grown up on a number of the series that have been published in these mags, and possibly now have families of their own.

Who knows how many of those older franchise will (or even can) make the cut, but it would certainly be a hoot to see the likes of Go Nagai’s Devil Man (or even better, Violence Jack) could be here, too. Obviously, they won’t get to murder their opposition any more than Ken and Raoh were able to in Jump Ultimate Stars, but seeing them represented in a game such as this would still be nice.
