Hey… I think I noticed this thread before, but I only just now really realized there were people in here actually talking. I’m sort of interested in throwing down from time to time around Indy. I can tell you right now that I’m pretty awful, but I “play” SSF4, a little 3s (very little), a little BB and from time to time I’ll pick up other random fighters that I don’t play much (like Melty Blood, Arcana Heart, random anime fighting games, MvC 2, Tekken, Soul Calibur). Unfortunately, I’m terrible at all of these, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting to find some people to get stomped by in person.
speaking of MBAA, i need to shake the rust off now that i have free time and am in town for a while. i’ll shoot you a text, kyle.
Alas, I feel the same way. I managed to get some people I know interested in MB, but only one or two of them would probably keep up with it, and even then, one of them wouldn’t come out to a tournament.
Though there’d be no money involved, a con tournament would be a good start, yeah? I always see MB as a side deal at cons, but perhaps that can be an avenue to drum up some interest.
Edit: I take part of that back. Person B (The non-tournament attendee) will be moving to West Lafayette next year, I think. (I might be as well. We’re moving in with a friend of ours at Purdue.) So he’d be likely to show up, barring work or something.

Getting stomped in person is the best way to improve, and there are plenty of people in town who know enough to help teach pretty much any semi-popular game. My areas of “expertise” (if you want to call it that) are primarily Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, Melty Blood, and Arcana Heart, but I am familiar enough with most popular games to be at least mediocre.

I don’t understand why we can’t sign up for the Galaxy4Gamers thing. I thought the only requirement for Indiana was that you had to be participating in a game of skill to get money out of it. How is Street Fighter not a game of skill?
Can Kenshiro even do any of the silly HnK stuff? I’ve hardly seen any high level videos of him at all. I was inspired to spend a little bit of time in training mode with Raoh, there were actually some basic combos that I didn’t know about even after all this time, so perhaps the next time I play my strategy will be slightly more sophisticated than spamming the wallslam attack and air fireballs. Now I just need to get better at linking the low jab after the knife spike.

Hmm… DBZ games haven’t exactly been my style since PS1, but maybe I could rent this and manage to at least be able to play it somewhat by the 9th. If enough other srk people go, I’ll definitely go.
Edit: Also… I’m a bit confused. Is this a tournament of the original or the sequel, which won’t be out until the 2nd? If it’s the latter, I hope it’s basically the same as the first one, because I’ll probably have problems getting a copy to mess around with the week it comes out.

Everybody - trying to pick a good date and format for a tournament like a medium-allday-wolkroneprollywins tournament… so everybody let me know wat games you wanna see and what will get a good turnout… I figure super, t6, and either gg or bb is standard which one do you think kyle (no1)?.. can we get a marvel crowd ray? I know 3S is strong in the MW would we need a lot of setups to run it mario?
