The tournaments are being put on by net battles, a group that was somewhat involved in the last naptown clutch but in general they are not really involved our community otherwise so I don’t know too much about them

a lot of the people who might enter sf4 post in this thread rarely or not at all, there are quite a few people who randomly show up at tournaments but otherwise never come to anything else and nobody really even seems to know who they are. Most of them aren’t particularly skilled from what I’ve seen

why don’t you just enter the tournament and find out instead of trying to guess whether you can win or not

I will be entering KoF, and wolvves might. He never gave me a solid answer on if he will or not. Also, if you need a sponsor for about 40 bucks when a tournament is a month away, that is pretty sad LOL.

When it comes to AE and Marvel players, i’m honestly not sure. At the last Naptown Clutch, the top 4 players were from Ohio, so i’m not sure who would show up from sf4, and at the same time, i’m not sure how good they are. There are a couple people who haven’t gone to Arsenal in a while that were good at sf4, but i’m not sure if they could beat you. It’s been awhile since i played them

The only fighting games that doesn’t have an Anime style to it is Mortal Kombat… So if you play AE, then you are kinda being a hypocrite on your standards… Just sayin lol

Ha, yeah, and it kills me… Street Fighter I can handle because it’s more about an overall Japanese style than straight-up anime. And I’m sure I’m going to love playing KoF, I’m just really turned off to it at the moment based on the footage I saw at Evo.

Oh it’s more of a monthly Ranbat not a tournament…? Right? And yeah anyone know about this organization? I know they helped with NTC and I had to give them my info so they sent me a few emails. Is this an organization we want to support? Just checking, haven’t been to any Indy stuff since like this summer.

The guy who i am talking to about the Ranbat seems like a good guy. I am sure that it will be trusting. If I was to think that something is fishy, i wouldn’t want to promote it here.

Sounds good then, I will almost definitely make it to this one, please post when you have more information about times. I live in Marion now (went to high school in Indy, then purdue, now in the country) so it will be good to stop being an online warrior for a little. Also need to be finished with it somewhat earlyish Sunday night since I have work Monday morning and I live 1.5 hrs away.

They definitely have a scene and some people that play it. Not sure about specifics though. I will say that Ahmed (Fro) commentated for a few hours of evo for KOF with zerp and that cali guy with dreadlocks (perhaps you saw/heard him?). I haven’t played him in KOF but I know he loves the game a ton and is obviously knowledgeable. John got third in the skull girls tournament at EVO. Jay (hologram gootecks lol) got second in the mystery game tournament at UFGT8. Can’t say I have anything to brag about though sadly. Also, since it’s before school starts I’m not sure how many of the Purdue players will actually make it since some of them don’t live in the area. I did message them on facebook to let them know and I’ll remind them, just don’t know who will show

Very cool. I’ll be bringing my famous balrog and taking people’s fight money. Who were you at NTC? Problem is I recognize people from Indy but I don’t really know there names/GT’s. I think i’ll start playing KOF again tonight with my new evo team: Duo Lon, Takuma, Shen. Just really need to play that game more because I’m trash at it and it gets boring smashing people wtih my rog
