Here is a question directed to every one who use to play at Gameworks or Tilt. I work there and have noted that all the fighting feeds have gone missing. Why is that?

They are at Arsenal on saturdays and mondays, and fridays some people work at night.

It’s a money issue as well…I for one loved going to Tilt, but the vast majority of the players in the Indy scene did not frequently go to Tilt due to parking and food cost at the mall…not to mention that SSFIV and UMVC3 were on a pay to play timer.

The Arsenal sessions run twice a week, parking is FREE the cover charge is only $3 dollars and it’s in a decent centralized location. It’s a lot easier to bring your own set up to Arsenal as well…if you bring your set up to Tilt you have to lug it up three floors and find a spot to set up. Let’s face it…bringing your own set up to an ARCADE is silly and ultimately hurts Tilts bottom line AKA making money off the players. And finally the sticks on the machines at Tilt are ASS…Sluttly lose joysticks, non Sanwa buttons and lack of the latest titles.

Tilt is a GREAT tourney venue…but it’s not made for weekly sessions.

-not enough machines at Tilt to work without bringing other setups
-long way to haul console setups up to Tilt
-high cost of parking, food, and venue costs
-machines do not have the right kind of parts and the parts they do have are generally in poor condition
-other than the xbox cabinets there aren’t really any games that people want to play enough to warrant the trip

We tried going to Tilt every week for a while but it didn’t work out. We were losing what little community we had going, and after switching venues our community has since exploded with both numbers and frequency of activity compared to what it was just a year ago.

There are things Tilt could potentially do to lure our business back but I’m not sure how much of it would be financially viable or even within the control of local management, and in the end we’re really not a huge market and it and probably aren’t worth catering to in the first place. As it stands Tilt is our best choice for big tournaments but not for small weekly events.

It might also help if the various events Tilt does have were advertised better, I understand net battles has been having been some Friday night events recently but the only reason I even know about it at all is because I know someone who works there. Just popping in this thread and mentioning it would be enough to get the word out

However I do agree with this mindset. The only real reason to go to Tilt is to talk to bitches, get money and play top skater.

You thought wrong… I join smash tournaments because it’s free money, I do the same for the srk community No difference for me. Taking money from children on both sides of the court lmao.

My mindset is clear, but back in high school this was my life…

In other news I think that I got some new blood from work interested in coming to Arsenal on Saturday! I saw some guy playing SSFIV on his IPhone during break and told him to come down and get bodied…hopefully him and a few others show. I’m always on the lookout for new players to help our scene grow…
