Has anyone played this game? Ougon Musou Kyaku Cross?
It’s stupid pretty. Of course, the 2v2 tag mechanics immediately caught my eye.

I’ve played the original one, it wasn’t that good, but the Visual novel of it is pretty good
The original wasn’t very good but they could have stepped their game up. The first Melty Blood attempts were pretty bad but they eventually got their shit together
It also has my favorite character select screen and music in pretty much any fighting game

Surprising probably no one, KOF will be at Evo 2012. Go get 'em, Indy folks!
Our scheduled time for Arsenal on Saturday is 5pm to midnight
not thrilled with the Evo lineup
get off my lawn, etc
Evo is going to have the most mainstream games so the lineup makes sense. I do wish that Evo would do some of the lesser played games as it can really help some of those communities and develop interest for those games. Whatever though…
Yeah, I did notice the lack of GG. That’s too bad…
And I’m REALLY not liking the fact that SFxT is getting the nod, this year. I know that it’s certainly hypocritical of me to say that it’s much too soon after the release to be at Evo so close after release, even though MK 9 went from release to Evo in three months. But still…just doesn’t FEEL right to me…it might be because the game just looks too much like SFIV (artwork-wise). I just think that they had room for one more game to keep the line-up full of different variety (GG, Skullgirls, etc.)
BlazBlue probably would have been my pick. I know Guilty Gear, Melty Blood, and Arcana Heart 3 had no chance but BB at least has a community and a new release coming up in time for Evo (they usually miss it with poorly timed US release dates in mid/late summer). It also had probably the most hype finals last year
Skullgirls would probably be good too but it is definitely a big unknown so I can’t blame them for not picking it, although I can blame them for Crossing the Line despite the same potential issues
Regardless on the line up, I’d at least like to try and go, so I was wondering if anyone else planned on going to evo this year as well? If you are it wouldn’t hurt to go with someone to help cut down on hotel costs, and having someone to practice etc.
On a side note I really wish Melty Blood, and Guilty Gear would get a current gen release on consoles, otherwise no one will really pick up those games imo. Well I guess I shouldn’t say no one, but realisticly no one wants to have laptop/ps2 fights anymore
I’ve been debating going for the past several months. I’ve just been waiting to confirm if MK 9 would be in the line-up before I could finalize my decision. I’m still thinking about it, though.
Well if I do go I plan on entering kof13/MK9/umvc3 so I’ll need some training partners. I guess the only person I know that plays mk9 is you Rumler so I’ll need to get some practice with you before I go lol
Hehe, sounds good man. I do know that there’s one other dude that I usually see at Arsenal on Friday’s that plays some MK. I don’t remember his name, but he’s the dude that walks around with a cane (or at least used to). He seems to be pretty efficient with multiple characters, so he’s great for getting experience with multiple match-up’s. Unlike myself, who only really knows Sub-Zero and maybe a couple of other characters…but I do have a pretty mean Subby.
sorry Rumler I can’t play myself too well at MK lol
Huh…what…
OH!
slaps forehead in embarrassment
My bad, dude. God, I need to show up more often, if not to at least learn who people are on here!
My name is Caleb, and yeah I used to walk with a cane.
I’ll be looking for practice in those three games mostly, so if you ever feel like playing at Arsenal, or playing some at my house, or at yours let me know.
One of my New Year’s Resolutions is to show up at Arsenal more. Now that the Friday’s have been moved to Saturday’s, that’ll make it a lot easier for me to do.
At some point I’m going to try to get into KOF, but I’m done with Marvel. That game just moves too fast for me to fully follow what’s going on while I’m playing and react to it in time. Still a helluva fun game to spectate, though.
I’m putting off research opportunities this year to go to EVO so assuming nothing crazy happens my plan is to go and experience the hype first hand. I’ll be in for SSF4 and SFxT. Maybe we can get all the Indy people together one night for dinner or something for everyone who goes out. It’d be nice to see some familiar faces.
i shall see y’all there. i’m headed out as well.
hey Rain, don’t forget the ST side tourney. it’s high rollers but it’s top players from US & Japan, plus if you find the time there might be some opportunities for some good ST casuals. probably not HDR, sorry
Yeah it’s always fun to go back to a game where Cammy sucks even worse than she does in HDR! … ugh… I’d probably watch alot of ST but save myself the embarassment of competing unless Zass shows up in which case, I owe him a serious beat down (in a friendly way he and I have become pretty decent friends I think). But you have no idea Brent, I’ve been in the lab, like learning how to do stuff like 3 hit combos… I’m DANGEROUS! lol… not.
i usually try to go to EVO… it’s second to none obviously… ZAP and I went this past year, and i’ve been the 2 years before hand… i can easily discribe it in 4 letters… GDLK … so if Caleb or Jeremy wanna collaborate plans just let me know
I’ll see everyone tomorrow around 5pm for our first official Saturday at the arsenal… oh and ZAP says “I’m on my way to Hong Kong… Hold that!” … i’ll probably pickup AD and Bank and them before i go… barring my best friend going into labor of course… man NTC is pushing my stress level… i hope everybody knows about it by now, im about to carpet bomb the boards with links and whatnot
