But if I did I really wouldn’t have a challenge Also most of the pro players do short hops all day which are easily punishable with a good reversal. The only thing that impresses me about the players in tournaments are the HDness they have.
I’m pretty lame at the game, and even though I over jump the gun occasionally, It isn’t that difficult for me to reversal a normal, or jump, even short hops on reaction.
As for wake ups, if you don’t do something unless I just don’t give a fawk, I will block. lol But yeah I try to do some zoning/combos with Kula, I know thats how she is supposed to be played. Really heavy spacing. Andy I really like to troll with. Kim I’m alright with him but I want to drop him for Saiki, which I think is my best character.Terry I like him, but I don’t know how to play as him to be honest, I just know his reversal is godlike, and can punish just about anything if they are in range lol
Edit: So I’ve started training with Saiki, and I’m managing to get around 600 damage in the corner, And around 450 midscreen. in HD mode I can go to 800 damage but it seems impractical lol
If anyone is down for it I wouldn’t mind playing some KOF13 on psn, I know that the netcode isn’t the best, but look at it this way, my instant reversals on reactions will not work. My psn is BloodyNights if anyone is up for it.
Hey guys, I am a SoCal player and going to be visiting Indianapolis for business on Jan 9 - 13. I know it’s the middle of the week, but is there any place you guys meet for casuals, either for SF4 or KOF13? I prefer arcades but if there aren’t any I can see what I can do about going to local casuals. I won’t have a car though.
We meet up downtown at Arsenal Game Room on Mondays and Fridays at 5 until closing. Most games are represented and there should be setups for KOF13 and SF4.
I talked to Bill on Monday and he said that Saturdays should be opening up if we want to switch our Friday sessions to Saturday. They are open from 11am to midnight on Saturday so we would have a ton of time to play if we wanted, and we would be much less likely to get shoved into the tiny room if someone pays to reserve the big room, which could be happening more often in the near future.
I haven’t talked to Bill about it yet or anything but I also thought that it might be a good idea to try and move the Monday session to Wednesday if we can, that way we maintain the nice spacing we had before (3-4 days between sessions instead of everything being lumped together like it would be if we had it on saturday and monday)
anyway let me know what you think, it would probably be a few weeks before we made a change, if the group consensus agrees to it

Problems we have:
No where to meet
No one willing to host on a weekly basis
No one wants to throw down cash just to meet
I ask because you guys atleast have meetups for multiple players. I haven’t done any looking yet, but thought I might ask before I ruin my chances at something for our state/scene/city.

my family does christmas on x-mas eve… My grandma’s been playing bejeweled, My mom’s been playing harvest moon on the GC, all the kids have been playing brawl, and i spent all of today playing Sonic Rush on my nephew’s new DS, trying to beat the world records for certain levels… I truly come from a gaming family… totally got it under my thumb but i gotta get it on camera
and on my closing note… i am frickin LOOOOOOOOOVING KOFXIII!! … i need a new stick so i can get the technical aspects down better but beyond that… i really think playing Maximum Impact got me going
Wednesdays will work for me, but I will be working Saturdays unless I change up my schedule drastically
The place we meetup at is a table-top gaming place that serves food and has enough chairs/tables to handle us showing up weekly. We kinda got lucky, one of us knew about the place and that was our connection. Tips would be to always bring a setup, power strip, and pad/stick with you (if possible), be as consistent as possible, and be sure the venue provider is adequately compensated by providing for the group. Other than that, if there is genuine interest, people we be there.
Someone is going to have to be the pack mule and its better if there are a few people who can fulfill this role. Luckily we have quite a few people who bring controllers, systems, etc. in addition to a complete setup. Outside of that you just need to find a place to play. As Eph mentioned, we play at a table top gaming place but there may be other options. Try and get an arrangement that works well for both parties. For example, our arrangement allows us to play and in turn we buy food and drinks to support their business, this can definitely help entice a venue to support you guys. Once you’ve got all that you need to actually show up. We’ve got a good group of regulars at Arsenal and its one of the main reasons that the venue works so well for us. Best of luck guys and if you guys want to stop by Arsenal sometime you guys are of course welcome. Who knows, it may inspire some of your community to actually show up to local meet ups.
