In regards to the netcode

Well at least they got a patch coming up for it on Tuesday.

Absolutely !

Here is the funny part:
“King of Fighters XII at 1:00pm July 24
I hope all of you know that Ignition and SNK truly do listen to the fans, you guys are the reason we try to do so much with the community, and we’ll do our best to do right by you.”

Yeah, right… Rember KOF98UM, Garou, etc ? Hundreds of posts telling how much the netcode sucks in every places. And nothing has ever been done despite that. So enough with the “listen”, now “act” !

**Official statement from Ignition-

We understand that there have been some concerns raised about performance during online play. A patch for the both platforms is being worked on which should help with those gamers experiencing issues. While I don’t have an exact date for the Xbox 360 version, the PS3 patch should be available by the street date July 28, 2009.

The game wasn’t even supposed to release today and won’t in Japan and elsewhere until after the 30th.

So everyone just settle down, every company has issues, even BB’s GGPO netcode had serious problems on launch day, and wait for the patch, meanwhile look for local comp, convince your siblings, friends, enemies to play KOF XII.

Or just use KOF"s always awesome practice mode. Learn your CC’s!!

Well let’s wait until Tuesday. Don’t buy the game until then if you want to play online. There’s always local play and training mode.

I’m pretty upset about the horrible netcode. But I’m not surprised about it either. I hope SNKP redeem themselves because I’d hate to see the game fail miserably.

Yep. Tuesday is the final judgement lol

If it does though, there are plenty of good alternatives out there. We don’t have to take it.

least they’re making a effort to try and fix it

To be fair, it’s not really day one yet. This is day minus four.

Thats true and that was my defence over at the ignition forums, but if today was the release date it would probably still be the same, seems like they are doing something because the people are complaining, whether it be today, which it is, or the “proper” 1st day…hope im making sense, its 6:29AM over here and I havent gone to bed yet. At least I can say I stayed up all night the day KOFXII was released, just not my countries release(Australia) :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh thats another thing, I thought KOFXII was gonna have a WorldWide release date, ok 2 days difference between Japan and America, but Australians have to wait till August 27th, and even then it’ll prolly be pushed back like ALOT of other titles we get.

Agreed!! But im gonna give them a lil more rope, if its not 110% perfect by say August 5th, someone at SNK and/or Ignition better pull their finger out!!

Its also a shame bout KOF98, I struggle with some people from my own country, on the other side of it, but still…

I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt, considering that the game shouldn’t have been released yet as mentioned by others.

Here’s to hoping that it improves and they release additional content for the game, i.e. more stages!!!

i don’t think you can expect much from online play when the game’s leaked

who cares? it should’ve been good out of the box. There’s no reason to apologize for SNK’s negligence.

It wasn’t leaked either. I fucking BOUGHT it in a BRICK AND MORTAR STORE.

catchafire:

> Personally, I believe that the fighting scene needed KOF to make a positive impact and carry the baton after SFIV did a good job this year.

Er, why?

> With KOF and the complexity of BB, the fighting game scene is going to fizzle out (at least in America).

Again, why? The fighting scene doesn’t need KoF. It never did (indeed, it’s the other way around) and, in many places (including and especially America), it never has.

> There are too many other great games out or on the horizon that have their shit together…

Exactly. Tekken 6 is coming out later this year and should pull some big numbers (if you’re looking for a fighter to continue SFIV’s train, Tekken 6 is it; BB will probably pull some impressive numbers for ArcSys, but I doubt it’ll end up being anywhere close to what SFIV and Tekken 6 have pulled/will pull). The fighting scene will be quite fine without KoF.

The game wasn’t supposed to be out till next week…I’m willing to give them time.

Game is out 4 days early, Servers ain’t ready yet, Patch is coming ASAP - Launch Day for PS3, 360 shortly there after.

All of that is official word from the company, I’m willing to give them a shot…I’m sure they know how much was riding on this game.

I understand the game was released a bit earlier than SNKP may have planned on, but really… netcode this bad a week or so early? You’d think there would have been at least some sort of solid foundation to build on.

It’s good that they’re patching it, but I don’t understand how the game being leaked has anything to do with lag. Are there actually servers for this game? I was under the impression that there are servers for the lobbies, but when the matches start they’re just p2p. correct me if I’m wrong?

No I think you’re right. The game was going to launch with this netcode if it wasn’t for people getting early copies. We would’ve had to wait until August for a patch.

Yeah 6 stages is a total let down for me, I remember the good ol days when every team in KOF and every character in SF had their own stage, at least BlazBlue got it right(with an extra 2 backgrounds)!! Im kinda hoping for more stages thru DLC than characters.

i think gamestop was the only one who even got it today

hey guys it’s not the end of the world! I finally got one decent connection. Orange box next to their name is the key I think.
