Sakura can out poke Oni with st hk , cr mk and lk/ex tatsu, if you ever chuck plasma at her jump range you will get punished by her jump in HK because of Oni’s slow recovery fireball. Her super long range Focus Attack will also catch you if you’re not careful with your plasma’s or pokes. Imo not easy unless you did not fought against good ones. How to tell whether they are good isn’t hard if they ever knock you down they will do an ambiguous cross-up jhp on you and demonstrate their 1frame shuunpukyakux4 links with 4ex bar until you see moon, star , chicken and skulls.
I cannot state strongly enough how accurate all of this is.
So … how come I can’t find Oni on ANY tier lists?
The only 1 among those 3 is the Cr.Mk; Otherwise l.k tatsu gets stuffed by Nj. Mp or Demon palm( I forget), Ex-is not even no that much of a worry, more like the person doing it randomly hoping to get ultra , With sakura it’s more like you have to bait and punish her. For focus attack, h.k tatsu and ex. plasma are your friend.
Her st hk beats both Oni’s F HP and F MK. Bad idea to nj against a sakura since they can dp you with the lp-mp shouuken into another one and you wont be able to stop her from doing cr mk into lk tatsu to get near and that will give the the room to pressure even more with walking lp ~ lp ~ lp tick throw or even link to another lk tatsu. Sakura’s tatsu after Block is 0 if you understand where I am from and blocking her FA lvl2 will lead to the same thing as well gving her jab priority into some OS tatsu. if you back dash. Having fought against Uryo wannabe’s gives me headache I rather fight Makoto’s and at the end of the day you have no choice but to dp her out of her pokes which is taking risk against a character with awesome link combos.

lol i literally fell asleep 13 minutes into it and woke up at the end…i think this is the first video i ever seen where someone who claims to main a character post a hour long video breaking down that same char faults…srsly u really thought this video was needed? ofcourse u did but was it that necessary?
It’s way long, yeah. Like I said it’s mostly just stream of consciousness since I was just granted the ability to post long videos 
But yes, I think a lot of people are scared of Oni’s tricks and don’t know how to deal with them, so I was aiming for a sort of one stop shop for all of the weird/unique stuff that gives people trouble.

Hopefully Capcom will re-evaluate their 2012 changes to Oni.
His pokes definitely need more damage. And at least one demon slash should be neutral to -4 on block.
Also, FADC-able DPs (when they are blocked) would be useful.
I made this video to demonstrate EX Shoryuken’s insane chip on block and how it beats nearly every option in many circumstances. It’s kind of like a mini version of Seth’s Ultra 2 from Super in that it basically gives you a free win if your opponent has less than 63 health

Dat chip… Insane. I’ll definitely be incorporating this into my gameplan, had no clue it was that powerful. I haven’t tested, but isn’t that more chip than U2? :wtf:

It is in no way risky if you are doing it when they’re in range of dying from the chip, which is the whole point.
