This is the video showing Fei doing that damn throw loop to me, Sirlin plays Cammy for a bit and then changes or the other way around not too sure.

that was nasty. if I ever have to counter pick blanka, i know to use fei now.
How do you get past spamming ryu, ken, akumas who get you in the fireball, dragonpunch, sweep kick trap? For the ones I beat I usually sit back as they spam uppercut and try to hit them with a beast roll, follow up with a ground slide, then tick chomp…Any feedback will be appreciated
Wow. That was very fascinating. Sirlin would not have won a round had it not been for those throw shenanigans! Ha!
You couldn’t counter throw? Or throw him through his st.LK tick attempt? Or eat the st. LK so that you recover fast enough to punish his follow-up? Of course, the st. LK can be comboed from but he doesn’t seem to be a huge combo guy and you’d probably surprise him before he knew to take advantage.
Let me know if you still can’t counteract this…I’ll be sure to abuse the hell out of it myself!
What happened to the HDR forum? If I click on “General Strategy” I get the ST forum instead. My bookmarks give me a “Page not found” error. This is the only thread I can click on cuz it’s the most recently updated one. Anybody else having this issue? If not, someone post the new link please.
Same issue here… I smell a conspiracy:confused:
Nah jk/ some update probably took place and something went wrong again, the urls are different now… anything shoryuken in your bookmarks, more than likely doesn’t work… the bookmark not working thing happened to me also…
Actually, the problem is forum-side. The link for the HDR General Strategy forum is General Strategy and that’s the exact same link as for all the other ones, which leads to the SSF2T General Strategy forum. Rather annoying, because it’s now impossible to get to the other General Strategy forums.
I’m glad I’m not the only one having this problem. I could only enter this thread because it was the thread with the most recent post.
But yeah BTC, your best bet against that situation is reversal throw.
Empirion is pretty good at reversal throwing when I attempted it on him. Of course I could always mix it up if I anticipate it.
It took me FOREVER to figure out a counter to your bite shenanigans. It was then I realized you play VERY defensively and noticed you hardly ever reversal throw. So I said to myself, “I wonder if throw looping will work on him?” and it worked to great effect.
I have the perfect counter for throw loops.
After the Fei knee tic, I stare into your eyes and dazzle you with my good looks. Then as you pause to admire the features of my face… I bite your face. Simple.
You’re welcome.
block and hitstun is the same. makes no diff.
anyways BTC you gotta reversal/counterthrow dude. Also remember cr.jab under chickenwing to make it whiff and then a free bite.
Blanka has one of the fastest jumps in the game, so use that to your advantage. You can actually jump a Hadouken on reaction and punish them with a dizzy combo. That’ll learn 'em real quick. If you find them setting up a FB/DP trap, simply jump straight up over both projectiles to get out of it. I find that staying close to projectile throwers and pressuring them into something foolish is one of Blanka’s strengths. Poking with cr.:mk: XX Blanka Ball (and all of the variations that Real Decoy shows off in his YouTube videos) is just too good against zoners.
Hey! You distracted me! THAT’S CHEAP!!!
(Yes…this would be me joking. Read the tick throwing section in my FAQ please.)
I hate talking about characters I have no general experience with, but jumping is something that you do not want to do too much in either match esp. Ken, mostly its poking with crouching roundhouse(walking up a little before you do it allows you to threaten them with a walkup bite) and beast slide… poking with crouching mk into beast roll also works well in this match…
Again though, I suck ass with Blanka…
EDIT: And a question of my own, is standing HK to go over shoto sweeps a shenanigan?
Counter grab fei when you are throw looped. Hold back and hit HP rapidly, it works for me. You can hit fei with piano reversal ball in his face, but even so, its not safe at times. Counter grab is your best defense against it IMO. If fei has little hp left, smack him with a piano’d reversal ball to knock him out.
Yeah I don’t have a problem with the reversal ball, in those matches I was trying to figure something out where I could hit him with out getting hit back right after. I will try holding back and pressing throw though, I used to hold back then press forward and punch but now that I know I can just hold back and tap hp i will do that instead.
I had something very neat happen unintentionally while I was playing last night. This happened online but it definitely, definitely happened.
I’m not sure what my input was after the ball other than a punch button. The super was so sudden and unexpected, I can’t even remember what I was actually trying to do.
Thinking back, it rings a bell that this happened to me once before months and months ago on ST GGPO, but the super didn’t hit so I never really took note of how cool it actually was.
I’m willing to bet at least a few of you have had this happen before too. It would obviously be an extremely situational thing, but I can think of at least a couple uses for it off the top of my head so it would be really cool if we could replicate it consistently. Any thoughts?
I have a few hypotheses but I’m not sure about any of them. Man I wish this game’s training mode had a record feature. >:-/
If the ball (or, I think, any other similar moves) hits the wall, it immediately ends with 0 recovery. In that case, you can sometimes use the charge that you had for the ball to do a super (possibly also another ball, but that’s harder because the command to do the ball is so short). You did back-forward to do the ball, then you ‘hit’ back when you crossed under Ryu, so all you had to do was hit forward & punch for the super.
In HDR you can even do midscreen hop/jab ball/strong ball into super.
Thanks for the answer, dude. That was my first guess too but I couldn’t get it to work consistently so I figured there must be something more to it. HDTV.
I should already know that you can never trust a laggy TV. I tried again today on a proper ol’ down-to-earth CRT and it works every time just like I thought it should.
Hahaha Fulaani you probably don’t remember but I’ve done at least a couple hop supers at you before on GGPO. First I’ve ever heard about jab ball super or strong ball super, though! Timing sounds like it would be reeeally tight.
Here is a of what Fulaani was talking about.
