I'm a super noob. Question

Also do not forget, there are other video games too. One may take a break from video games and one also may take a break from fighting games in general.

Well, if you enjoy fighters, just sitting and playing is fun in itself. Just like any activity, you’ll need to invest time in order to get better… You really have to not focus on winning, but just enjoying the game… and actually appreciate the way you’re getting “bopped”

Street Fighter is a well supported game so you’ll find all the information about your character and general techniques with a very simple search… hell, you’re at SRK, there is very little more you have to do in terms of searching…

Experiment with your normals, learn some basic combos and punishes, polish your execution and then head online (if you have no offline buds) to test your ability to anti-air jump-in’s and space your normals correctly. Don’t spend too much time in training mode and try and pull off huge CMV-esque combos… its no use knowing amazing combos if you can’t land em/getting you ass wrecked via DP

I want to update my progress. I was able to reach 1000 plus on my pp and my highest BP for Ryu was 4500. I’m getting the feel for my game and my Anti air improved. I lost some of my pp on my Steam account (from 1440 to 980.-had a real bad day) today but I realized im not patient thus I’m losing. I need a good plan to work on my ground game.

In SF V, I played the beta, I was winning a lot(i lose too). It seems friendler than 4.

I just need to practice and practice. This month is my third month playing street fighter. I am loving this game I tend to forget other games but next month ill,be on vacation,so,no sf for me,for 3 weeks lol.

Is this not a good tactic? I’ve heard or read somewhere (probably here) that top level players (Daigo specifically) do this.

It’s more like a calculated gamble. When players like Daigo mash Dp during an opponent’s string. They do so because they’re hoping to catch them pushing button’s during opening’s in their string. So if they see their foe pushing a lot of buttons. They may go for a dp during a string. But it can easily back fire. If that DP is blocked and you have no metter to FADC and make it safe. You’re gonna get wrecked.

People can purposely stop combos where they think you would be mashing. When I played SFIV I did this all the time with Claw for people I figured were mashing. Jump fierce, close standing fierce, stop combo where they’d be mashing because they expect a dropped link, free unscaled ultra for me.

A) how long did it take you to be good at this amazing game? How many hours do you play?
As long as you keep playing you will get better and more comfortable.
Currently at 1.5k hours and I can wrek so many people now even with just basics.

B) When you train, do you do training mode for 30 mins then the rest online?
I used to do more training mode when I was newer. Mostly online. Locals are the best though, helped me make my breakthroughs.

C) is 2 hours good for training optimal or should I add more hours? (Currently working 8 your job)
Just play when you want to. You will be getting better the more you play.

D) I get destroyed a lot even though I play a month. Is that normal or am I just stupid for this game?
That’s normal. I used to just be happy to get a win.

Main Takeaway: Play more, get better. Also, locals are the best; on’t be scared to show up and get rocked.
