To compare todays camera phones, cloud services and media streaming sites to some shitty disposable camera that would be the most likely tool to purchase in a poor urban neighborhood, is beyond me. Are you asking why some of these instances go viral, while others dont? Thats pretty much up to the media, and the response behind it. It came at like this sweet spot of like 2 other things making major headlines, like the guy getting shot in the back, and the cities response to this shit was slow (the baltimore issue), and still is.
Horrible things have happened come to light since this baltimore thing too, that have not, and likely will not make headline news.

People die every day in Baltimore, so much so that shootings don’t make it to the news any more, its a common occurrence, as there at least several daily.
5th in the country for violent crime, I might joke about it in the past to make lite of it and make things bearable, but its a serious issue.
Look those cops aren’t having those charges dropped. Too many people here wants answers. The US Dept of Justice is also investigating the whole thing.

I would not even call it a race issue when 55% of the police force is black, about than half the city council is black, the mayor and police commissioner is black.
It is a issue of class, between the have and have nots. The poor of the city got ignored too much for too long and eventually civil unrest broke out.
The schools in the city are terrible, the social programs to help people are laughable, mortgage rates and taxes are too high and many homes are abandoned.
The city that gave birth to the “ICE COLD WATER AND ITS ONLY ONE DOLLAR” meme has a bottle tax.
People who live in the city go to the county for their food shopping, because its cheaper.
It becomes that police become the segregate instead of the programs and services that should be there, then cops that take there authority too far.
