Oh dear lord.
if you dont have 80% health at the end of round then you have to replay it
lmfao right from the first post I was hoping Iād see someone do this.
Anyway removing the block button is a poor solution, blocking as a mechanic isnāt what makes a game more defense oriented. There are other 2d fighters that are more offensive in nature (KoF series, Melty, etc) and they all have blocking. I do agree that SF4 is too turtley in general, but youāve got to look at much more subtle adjustments to fix that. Removing blocking entirely is not a suitable solution.
lmao
Itās cool that the majority of you are jackasses, it really is, totally sweet; but Iāve yet to read a reason as to why itās such a dumb topic, I just intended it as something to discuss. I mean, I know making a new thread here is like painting a target on your back, but snarky for snarkyās sake isnāt really impressing anyone.
hereās a topic to discuss: you never posting again, effective immediately
Thatās the thing. No one should have to type it out for you. You should know better.
Hereās a reason: logic.
Sounds like one of those weird Doujin fighters. But no disabling the block mechanic is a profoundly retarded idea. It would destroy the games balance, because SFIV, SF in general, actually, was designed with attacks, and lay-ups and shit that had blocking in mind. Now if you created your own game, Masochist II: Hit me Harder, from the ground up, with all the techniques keeping in mind that the other guy canāt block, then you may have an neat idea. But haphazardly removing fundamentals is asinine.
This is retarded.
Toke Jopic?
Fuck ācontrollersā I quit fighting games until super mind fighter 4 drops.
Thank you for your great contribution 2009 member.
Too complex and the requirement to use your mind is unfair to most.
It wouldnāt really help considering people could still just sit in a corner waiting for you to whiff a move or jump in and punish you for it.
How are people getting trolled by OP.
Not only did he make a remove block for SF games thread, he asked it to be replaced by parry because he wants the game to be less defensive.
I can only accept this idea if you can parry by holding forward or downforward. Just imagine: two opponents walking toward each other for the first 40 seconds waiting for the the other guy to either go for an attack or throwā¦
ā¦fucking mind games! :looney:
Itās a non-fighter game example, but no blocking worked for Viewtiful Joe, so I guess itās possible to make an innovating fighter with it. Youād have to do somehow deal with the usual speed of fighters combined with the inability to block.
I searched the thread but didnāt see bushido blade mentioned. This game has no block button in it iirc. To actually block, I believe you have to use the same type of attack being used. If your opponent throws a horizontal attack, you have to throw a horizontal attack a few frames early so they clash. Thatās how you block. While the game did have some VERY bad system elements, this was a game that presented āactive defenseā as the type of defense you had to play. Games like mvc2\vampire savior\GG are games where you need to use active defense. If you stay still in these games as you would in a heavily defensive one, youāll get eaten up.
you donāt need to get rid of the block button like bushido blade did, you just need to have good offensive mechanics that beat defensive ones. However, you donāt want a game thats too offensive\defensive, so the mechanics for offense\defense need to be equally as good.
The better question is, who cares about that water downed fighting called Street Fighter? Sure its better than other trash but its still trash none the less.
what has happened to my srk forum
