Let people spend meter on v-reversals too.

:triumph:

Not every game gives you tools for every possible scenario either. But I guess it kinda shows that this game is made dumb on purpose.

If chip kills were a thing, they definitely would.

I hate Bison but those sequences are cool as shit. Don’t really see the problem here since its gated behind VT and a fuckton of meter.

Just highlights how he’d abuse chip kills over say Ryu or sagat. They can’t dump chip damage into you like that.

When it comes to characters, people usually don’t know what they want. I didn’t see myself locking in on Kolin.

Lol Alpha 2 Rose spent one bar on Soul illusion, did st.hp xx drill in it and did like 25% chip damage.

All things considered these sequences are fair by old SF standards. Ever seen ST Honda do Hands twice in a row against a cornered opponent?

I don’t remember ever seeing something like that when high level players are playing and I am watching almost every tournament.
Who cares about twitter stuff?

Those are online game replays, not some scribbled hypotheticals. They are definitely practical in that regard.

Oh well.

Yes, but if you need full VT bar and full meter and your opponent must not have VR…it is really situational.
There are way worse things in this game.
And these sequences are really cool. I would not mind if more characters had them.

I have no problem with bison, he doesn’t have a reversal

You know, during this whole conversation, I somehow missed the point that Bison probably kills me a lot quicker because I sit there blocking his pressure as if there’s no consequences.

I don’t think I’ve ever realize just how much life I am likely to lose when I incorrectly think I have enough frames to poke him and I get clipped.

I mean, I understand how white health works, just never thought about it when I’ve blocked his shit for 10 seconds straight.

Lmao, no wonder I’m so shit. I simply can’t put all of these pieces together.

With grey health, you sort of die faster against a lot of other characters. They stack hella grey health on you. There’s been some Daigo matches where he has like 150 worth of grey health from all the blocking. If you just got rid of that and left chip damage alone, you’re only really worrying about the chip and playing accordingly.

That is until you’re low on health. But hey, in ST if a throw would kill you, you can’t tech it. So just die.

Edit: Its easy to miss how much grey damage you’re randomly carrying in this game. Bison gets to do a St.HK for grey damage and +3, then cancel a medium for grey damage into a special that does chip damage. If he does his silly ass Psycho Axe, it does grey damage, then you’re point blank when he’s at +1.

Grey damage literally made a lot of stuff way worse than it used to be.

Characters that have knock down VR’s that can follow up with a safe meaty special is good. You don’t notice the amount of grey health, chip damage until you take a throw. Karin being the biggest abuser of this.

G has something similar, you can meaty a safe smash over after a VR. That shit adds up.

Well, at Treta a guy went on a rant because he was playing a guy who picked Falke. He joked asking if that was a mod, a new character, etc, then he looks to the side and sees me also playing Falke.
He lost it and couldn’t stop talking how he never saw that character and now there were TWO Falke players side by side on an offline event.

Playing low tier brings this kind of pain and suffering. :frowning:
