There’s a suspension of disbelief in the SF aesthetic that goes right out of the window when somebody pulls a 9 mm.
If somebody starts swinging an Axe and dudes just block it like normal, it’d look goofy as hell in SF. FEXL did a better job of making sure they were about guns and shanks with Garuda and Sharon.
Besides, if you want all the corny heavy edge weapon stuff, y’all can olay MK11. You know, the fgc savior that people dropped.

I still play MK11 almost every day.
Also this actually brings up one of my pet peeves about SF…you say it would look dumb if someone just blocked and axe and i agree. But its always bothered me that same way when someone blocks a fb. Especially if its something like Ryu CA. Like how does crossing your arms protect you from fire? It’s actually one of the reasons low chip damage in fighters bothers the shit out of me.
Not sure how’d they’d fix it but i just wanted to comment on it.

Lol why can’t yall just say you don’t like something and stick to your guns instead giving super weak reasons for them. If you’re gonna elaborate at least put some thought into how you feel like Pert instead of whatever nonsense you were trying to say.
“It’s Street Fighter”. Boy what? What streets do you cross on the regular that has guys in gi’s walking around?

Majority of the characters in SF don’t use melee weapons you tool. That’s why I said it’s Street Fighter.
Randomly adding sword, axe and gun wielders would look dumb as hell in this franchise.
You got Soul Calibur, MK, insert random anime and smash for weapons/guns. Keep it that way.

No fucking shit nigga they got math where youre from? That would still be the case with a new weapon based character. “Character” is singular btw.
Your second paragraph is not an argument and your third does not prevent it from happening in sf in any way.
Falke could get a rifle instead of a bo, remain completely unchanged mechanically, but then would be a bad design because hurr durr its street fighter shut your retarted ass up. Weapons work perfectly fine for the few characters that have them.

Fireballs in fighting games are usually treated as impact damage, not piercing.

The few that got weapons aren’t using swords, axes or other wack shit you asking for lol. Hundreds of SF characters and your dumb ass wants dolls and weapon characters. There is no case to be made for dumb shit like this in SF.
Take that bullshit to another franchise. This how you get silly shit like Eliza and Noctis in Tekken.

You aren’t making any case against it besides “i don’t like it” lol nobody cares about your feelings. Also Tekken is ass cheeks they can take whatever they want.
Vega and Decapre (in a manner of speaking) are already using bladed weapons and nobody is complaining about them, nor will it suddenly be bad with a new character.
I’m still waiting on a well thought out reason. You post like your keyboard is covered in shit stains

Vega and Decapre count as ninja stuff or powers. Again little ninja shit is fine. They still mostly punch and kick.
My feelings don’t have anything to do with it. What you’re asking for doesn’t fit the franchise. If it did we would’ve seen more weapons characters throughout the series. But we don’t. You keep asking for some super elaborate thought piece when it’s that simple.
Peeps always want to add fuckball shit to well established franchises just cause. If we’re adding guns and shit to SF, make sure we finally add realistic feet and hand sizes.
Sorry if this was posted already lmao Sakurai is hilarious, speaking about the cameos in KOF stage

Ninjas literally used swords what are you on about? Also there is nothing preventing a sword user from predominantly using punches or kicks so idk why you’re pretending that would have to be the case.
You have 0 evidence this is the case. Boxing is literally a martial art and has what…2 or 3 reps? There are some styles that have no representation at all (that should get it) that would fit perfectly fine in sf. Black people are poorly represented in SF but it would be moronic to say they aren’t a good fit for the series wouldn’t it.

Its wild in SF2 because you had people fully engulfed by flames and then getting back up like nothing happened.
But thats also why aesthetics matter. The ideas you get across visually and their cohesion are important. BBxT is fine because you have a bunch of different games with weapons. Blitztank is likely to look weird AF.
You start slashing people in SF though? It’ll look off.
ST: Sim, Boxer
3S: Chun, Yun
SF4: Akuma, Elena, Yun
SFV: Rashid, Akuma, Ibuki
Non-white people break Street fighter. It’s probably best to exclude them.

Your really gonna compare racial diversity to adding more weapons?
Lul ok
You have 0 evidence that is the case.
Legit there are like 12(16 if you count SFEX) playable SF characters that use weapons. Majority use ninja stuff, Birdie chain, Cody knife etc, Poison whip, Menat ball and the rest use some sort of stick. One used a gun and that’s Sharon if you count her.
So yeah weapons users don’t happen often and we don’t need more.

I should add that I dont like x-ray moves much. You’re doing midgame fatalities that people magically get up from. Kinda silly.

Just read that infiltration has registered for sfv at Evo Japan 2020 and final round 2020. That dude was so dominant before getting banned for a year.

EX characters are not Street Fighter characters, so they don’t count.

That woman who played female terminator from Genesys or whatever was also Bloodrayne, had a pretty graphic sex scene
