Calling him insane is pretty far. Appo did a lot of work in the subforums to clean them up and format them correctly.
It’s not even a beef its some random trying to tear down a place that doesn’t operate the way he likes instead of just leaving.

It’s pretty obvious he wanted the place to be better when he was actively modding I can understand his disappointment and resentment. Go off though Pertho needed to inflate his ego with a quick out.
To clarify my position before what I’m about to type, I really do like the Joker movie quite a bit, so don’t read the following and think otherwise (please):
Summary
I think the Bruce wayne stuff is unecessary. It didn’t actively hurt the movie so much as just bloated it. This version of the joker does not work as an antagonist for batman, so that connection doesn’t even make sense (in addition to the fact that the movie made no effort to build a thematic connection. Its the “Checkov’s Gun” idea. If its not really a part of your story, you are better off removing it.
Regarding the Taxi Driver comparison… I don’t think that really does the movie any favors. The Joker movie doesn’t really stand up super well to a literary style analysis. My friend put it well, the Joker move does alot of provoking, but very little exploration of its themes. The results in a movie that revels in ambiguity and meaninglessness, but also doesn’t really embrace that viewpoint itself.
As an example. Joker’s laugh, this is something that every version of the character has used and played differently. Jack Nicholson used it as an intimidation tool, it made the character scary. Mark Hamill used it as a baseline. Lauging mania was the normals, so it accentuated everytime the character would get more serious, again to make the character very intimidating when needed. Heath ledger used the laugh Sarcastically. His Joker is a foil to the idea of altruism. The entire character is an enigma, and the sarcastic, non-commital laugh goes along with that. Leto’s joker (forgive me or including him), also uses the laugh as an intimidation tool. This joker isn’t even slightly crazy, but has a demeanor designed to by threatening and the laugh reflects that.
Joaquin Phoenix’s joker though… his laugh is just a tic. Its basically tourettes (though the movie does not use that word). This is fine for a character that is unstable, but it robs the laugh of any meaning. It isn’t even meaningless as the character has no real control over it. It’e there to be uncomfortable and nothing else… which explains why its basically dropped for the 3rd act.
And that’s kind of the core problem with the movie, it doesn’t really commit nor follow through on any of its thematic elements. There could be alot of reasons for this, but I suspect that there was a reluctance to even use the DC character of the joker at all. At times it almost feels like that element was added later… but then again, the few scenes in the 3rd act with the fully realized joker are fantastic so… yeah. The movies theme’s constantly clash and are never fuly followed through on, which is what holds the movie back in my opinion. The ending also, “it was all a dream… or was it… yes it was… or maybe…” kinda drives home that pointless ambiguity.

Be better how? For what? This is the lounge its just GD for SFV players. Nobody here is breaking rules or derailing any threads specifically on elements of SFV. If his grievance was about people misusing other threads on the character subsections he might have a leg to stand on buts its not. He’s just mad we aren’t posting about SF 24/7 and wants the place nuked because of it.
He can be disappointed all he wants but it ain’t got shit to do with us and everything to do with his expectations that nobody cares about.
