Which games have the online capability? I know 3S does.

Street fighter 2 turbo
Street fighter 2 hyper fighter
Street fighter alpha 3
3rd strike

They are the ones that have training modes too.

No A2 though.

Is alpha 3 bad or something? That’s the one with Juli/Juni right?

It doesn’t have the full 3SO or HDR features though which is sad.

Am I the only one that hates labbing oki setups?

Different groups prefer alpha 2 or 3.

They are vastly different games.

@vhozite, I’m down for SF30A anytime too… I’m mostly focussing om SFV these days, but will gladly hop on for 3S or ST if I can

I think it depends on the character and the game. What’s your issue with it?

I just find it extremely boring.

Finding the right buttons/options is fun, but after I get them, I can only set the dummy to random wake ups for a few minutes before yawing, and that’s even if I suck at it.

Don’t think that hard about it.

For example, with Kolin, after HP hands, I dash forward and am +3. That’s about as much as I need to know to work with that situation in a match. SFV oki really isn’t super complex.

Yeh the trials is 3SOE were good.

Floe designed them iirc

Its also missing other features like the filters.

I’m also not convinced its still running GGPO.

Its not.

Its different netcode to the Iron Galaxy releases anyway.

The games i got online were good…

The matchmaking was record breaking bad though. No filtering whatsoever

Yeah, I’m purposely doing pretty easy options after Cammy’s HK Spiral Arrow right now (mostly dash, s.MP, with a couple variables depending on the rise option), but I can only do it for a few minutes.

Maybe it is a mental fatigue thing though - trying to determine if it’s a quick or backrise in the early stages of the animation needs a bit more awareness than I thought it would.

I do remember labbing oki with Akuma and finding it extremely boring as well after a few minutes, but maybe I was dealing with the same thing back then.

The netcode as been fine, not really a problem.

But 3SO was better still.

Also, I meant the graphics filters. I liked the smoothing they did for a modern HD Panel.

I cant remember.

I defo had scan lines and shit on both versions though.

I wish they did the same as the 20th Anniversary collection as an extra where you can have dream matches

HF Blanka vs ST Honda etc

I’ve got 30th anniversary too, I’m any good at any of the games on there but I got it lol.

In my experience with the guys here, a lot of it comes down to fundamentals. I’m sure there’s some other shit they’re doing, but I haven’t caught wind of any oppressive setups or anything like that.

With 3S in particular, the parries add an interesting layer of mindgames, and I find out more just by playing than I seem to pickup in training.

Unlike SFV, punishes are somewhat easy to gauge visually as well. I really just need to practice some harder combos/confirms in training and that’s it. Get my hands warmed up sort of thing.

On that note, I’ve got an hour to kill.

Anyone want to play some SFV or SF30A?
