late but I tried that and didn’t work, thing’s busted rip
Shame.
May I interest you in some dank chinese pads?
nah I’m fine
trying to get this old ass PS2 controller to work on steam, it works on mugen just fine but I can’t seem to make it work with Steam games, come on now…
GGs @flyingve! That’s was fun!
I feel like I did a better job that session with Cammy than I did the last one with Ryu. Hopefully a bit less predictable anyway.
I definitely still need a lot of work though. Too many Spiral Arrows against you while you were blocking, a few dropped combos, and maybe a little predictable with some of my pokes (you did a get job parrying me with Kolin), but feel like I’m getting a bit better. Again, long way to go though, lol.
One habit of yours I noticed was if I kept hitting you with s.MK (+2 on hit), you seemed to try to jump forward to try and stop it (it seemed more likely after the third hit). That was the only kind of tell I was able to notice though. You’re a really solid player.
Anyways, GGs again!
Thanks! Yeah, that’s basically what I’m trying to do - keep it fairly basic, just a few combos, and more of an emphasis on buttons and AAs (while pressing my advantage (oki), and throwing, dashing, etc).
I do think I am throwing too many Spiral Arrows out in neutral. It can be a good whiff punish tool against slow moves, but I do (foolishly) try it on moves that are too quick to punish.
I also definitely need to work on AAs too. When we’re fighting for our turn with close range block strings in neutral, the seemingly random jump-in always catches me off guard and I usually block instead of trying to AA, which is a bad habit I need to break.
I’m still trying to figure out her best AAs though. I’m mostly trying to do DP in the front, B+MP for the ambiguous ones right over her head, and crosscut DPs for obvious, not so deep, cross-ups. I don‘t really use s.Hk much, but I should practice that.
Thanks for the help!
Try to run it through Big Picture.
@PlusFrames you nut, you were supposed to hit me up on the weekends, you flake.
Flaying your arms isnt gonna help you get better.
Spiral Arrow is great for whiff punishing and EX is projectile invincible iirc but other than that i wouldnt use it in neutral.
I like simple input AA’s so I’m a big fan of AA’ing with normals or airthrow. DP is of course the optimal option but simpler options allow you to concentrate on the ground more.
Edit: one more thing…trying to rank up you want to make sure you are punishing everything unsafe. Her CA is very good at punishing things that are negative but usually safe due to spacing. Things like Vega’s meterless slices or I think Chun s.hp
Too little too late, he should have been done in the previous series, and left another char be the main Instead, they fucked the potential story the had setup and forced his stupid ass on a series that could have been better with Moon or Sun.
Just made a master Ryu RQ on my kolin. Get gud bitch
Haha, damn, I forgot about that.
I’m having issues with my mic so I won’t be able to do the Discord voicechat thing right now, but I’m up for games anytime. I’m free most evenings.
I’ll tag you tomorrow night to see if you’re around and interested.
Yeah, when I’m particularly excited/twitchy or tilted, I have a bad habit of doing raw Spiral Arrows when I feel like they’re about to press a button in neutral. It’s a really habit I need to stop.
I usually like button AA’s as well, but Cammy’s B+MP seems to tread or outright lose a lot if the person isn’t right over your head. That makes sense based im the animation, but it used to be a bit stronger. I’ll definitely try s.HK though and see how reliable it is.
I also agree with you about punishing. That’s one area I suck in. In other games I can usually tell what’s safe and what’s not visually, but SFV is really hard for me. I don’t know if some of the stun timings are ambiguous, or if the game is so fast that my timing sucks and I’m dropping punishes that should work.
Now that I’ve decided to stick with Cammy, I definitely need to lab punishes against a few unsafe moves from everyone in the whole cast.
You’re just mad because he is a pokemon master and you are not like no one ever was
You gotta STOP doing spiral arrows in neutral. You need to think about risk reward. You’re going to risk what, getting 80 damage of a very hard read? If your opponent has full resources you’re getting to get hit with a combo into Vtrigger into CA and that’s going to be minimum 500 damage. Even if they don’t have any resource, a medium to heavy normal cancelled into a special move is going to damage you for around 250 damage thereabouts.
And I hope you’re doing the mk version of spiral arrow instead when you’re throwing them out in neutral. HK version needs to hit twice to make it 100 damage.
Anyway, in short, think about the risk rewards.
I throw that out in neutral too. But very rarely. Maybe 30 games I do once. And I think about the risk rewards. Like, I’m massively leading in terms of life and that raw spiral arrow will kill the opponent. Then I’ll do one when I think I can react to my opponent pressing forward.
No, look, this is actually great.
Ash finally got a win, so he can fuck off with all those Z-moves bullshit and jank ass art style so Pokémon can have a real anime.
People have been waiting this shit for years!
Do we still not have a US release date on grandblue?
Before my controller went to crap I was doing quite a bit of hitconfirms into Lucia’s command run V Skill… you can get your VT pretty fast if you can get to confirm into the normal or ex version which is cool
That’s a good point and I agree with you. I’ll try to keep that in mind. Thanks!
Well found the problem with the controller after opening it up: the rubber thing on the dpad got damaged (the left input) so I guess we just gotta buy another one of these rubber things
And that should have happened on the previous season.
They built everything within the story to finally make him win, they built his relationship with that frog pokemon, introduced an actual love interest, and other shit that pointed out that this was it, it was finally the time we will see him win at pokemon and life.
But no, they decided to throw all the character developement and shoehorn his stupid ass on the sun moon series, perpetuating his benjamin button status.
The only good thing about him finally winning is that perhaps the next series will finally have a new and better mc.
