If I had the money i`d love to put together one last mvc2 tourney!

I want to say this was the same tournament…but I later played a tall Philippino guy with long hair…he was playing Spiral and destroyed me over and over ( and no one was playing Spiral anymore at that time because everyone saw the guard cancelling videos)

I later found out that this guy was Clockwork…HE HAS ONE OF THE BEST SPIRALS EVER, he just never played it in tourney. I had never seen the run up FP, swords into drones lock down before that night. ( This was on the scrub machine, non-tourney)

Really humble dude…he came back in 2003 for another mvc2 tourney and Socal brought a bunch if guys. THIS IS EMBABRASSING but I had chosen to play team clock at this tourney and you have to understand alot of people like myself did not have a copy of this game and only played whenever you could get to a arcade which in my case was rare…so basically I would watch videos ( pre youtube…thank you Preppy) and just try to visualize what I would do when ever I got to a tourney.

SO! I decided to play team clock and I actually won a couple matches…but later I had a chance to talk to Clock…the creator of Sent/Stri/Doom and I asked him ( I honestly didn’t know) how do you get Strider off of the wall? Clock being the intellectual that he is assumes I’m asking a complicated question and tells me this advanced way to switch sides and get down safely and then I stop him and ask again…“no no no, hiw do I just get off the wall?”…in complete disbelief of my scrubbyness combined with the fact that I actually won some matches and he had congratulated me…he tells me…" you just tap the joystick"…to say the least…I was VERY ASHAMED LOL ( up until that point I would just shake the joystick and mash and hope for the best with inconsistent results lol)

There was no …practicing, you would put your coin up there wait for along time…try not to lose too fast against whoever was dominating and also be ready to fight in case CJ showstopper “accidently” tried to steal your token…there was no practicing lol.

I’m really enjoying these stories. thanks!
