I think if overall character health was raised to like x1.2 so that you wouldn’t die off one mixup it would be fine. People are just mad because they practice combos, play their team well and then run into a guy who gets two mixups and demolishes your team. It would help runaway be more successful and make the xfactor damage not be such a big deal. It would certainly create a whole new seemingly slower game but i think for the better.
^ unfortunately thats just the nature of the game and is why I’m slowly giving up at it (rather learning it). a Measly 5 months into the games combos are developed that defeat the character with the highest health at full damage off of one hit, not factoring in projectiles punishing hits and assist damage. 1 mistake and you are punished and punished HARD, and not left neutral for the new character but usually at a place where the next mistake takes your second character.
it’s not very marvel like but maybe everyone should have Morrigans damage minimums and no dhc glitch and a slightly increased hitstun deterioration to make longer combos a bit more difficult to accomplish, then i wouldn’t mind x-factor being taken away.
Reducing its time is fine with me, but i still enjoy the idea of a comeback opportunity.
But keep in mind a lot of things besides that sort of have to change in order to maintain that “balance”.
Things like some character being able to built 2 bars in one combo, but not rushing down barely resulting in one.
Right now the game feels like jenga and just pulling the x-factor away is just as good as pulling that one block on the bottom away, yeah its annoying and making the top shake but if you do the whole things gonna fall. (lol analogies)
X-factor’s duration isn’t based on in-game timer ticks though. It’s 600/900/1200 frames.
Nah, it doesn’t last twenty Marvel seconds. The guide measured it as 20 real life seconds. If it lasted a real life minute, you would REALLY notice it. We would almost never see LV3 X-factor run out before the end of the match.
My main problem with Xfacter, other than it being too strong, is that it adds nothing to the gameplay. The Ultra system at least granted the characters a new tool that they could use. X-Factor just cracks out a character and puts the match on hold as you just don’t want to screw with an XF character.
