Ideas for Street Fighter 5

Here’s my idea: bring back Birdie and Necro!

Thanks for the like Mr. Twister hopefully more people will read my post. BUMP

It’s prolly HF fundamentals mixed with contemporary FG elements.

Assist gems and everyone is all neon.

My two ideas for a potential sequel:

Street Fighter V: Sequel to SF3 (placing it at the end of the current timeline instead of somewhere in the middle/beginning)
Story: 1 Year after Third Strike, M.Bison has been fully revived and returned to full power, perhaps his strongest yet. The heroes will unite to take him and his minions down… perhaps for good (likely not, but it will seem like his final defeat)?

Notable Mechanics: Parrying. It would feel like a true sequel to Third Strike.

Initial Roster:
SF1+2: Ryu, Ken, Chun Li, Akuma, M.Bison, Cammy.
SF3: Alex, Sean, Dudley, Elena, Makoto, Ibuki, Hugo, Oro, Urien, Yun, Yang, Remy, Q.
SFA: Rose
SF4: C.Viper, Abel
New (or at least partially new): Poison, Haggar, New Character #1 (Bison’s new right-hand man), New Character #2 (Just some general character)
Total Characters: 26 (and many of them are already modeled from SF4/SFxT)

Super Version (Because we KNOW it would happen):
SF1+2: Balrog, Vega, Sagat
SF3: Necro, Twelve
SFA: Guy, Cody, Evil Ryu
SF4: Rufus, Gouken, Oni
New: New Character #3, New Character #4, New Character #5
Added: 14
Total Characters: 40

Street Fighter Origins (Distant prequel to SF1)

Story: Takes place long before SF1, when Gouken and Akuma are much younger Largely covers Akuma’s transformation into a more evil self by the Satsui no Hadou.
Initial Roster:
Gouken (Ryu clone)
Akuma (Ken clone)
Evil Akuma (Current Akuma clone. He would be the final boss to characters like Gouken and Goutetsu.)
Goutetsu (Gouken in SF4 clone)
Go Hibiki (Dan clone)
Gen
Dhalsim
Oro
Dorai (Chun-Li’s father. Chun-li clone.)
Sagat
M.Bison (Sort-of clone of himself, but without things like the Psycho Crusher, as he has yet to fully master his Psycho Power.)
Haggar
Retsu
Lee
And then the rest of the roster would be a combination of obligatory clones of characters like Guile, and new characters with new abilities.

Travis would work better in a Vs. style game. Maybe if they make a Nintendo vs. Capcom (shut up, NMH is a Wii game).

Dude if your’re gonna quote me, next time can you possibly do it without Changing My Quote!! by adding in your own nonsense, thank you.

no more ryu, ken, or guile

Honestly, I think that would be a great idea.

I think it would also be interesting to have two or three different “grooves” kinda like CvS2, but maybe not as involved. There could be a Defense groove that has Dash, Dodge, and Just Defend/Parry, and an Offense groove that has Run, Counter/Focus Attack, and maybe a Push move. Maybe they could even be sort of like the different Styles Dante has in Devil May Cry 3. I know SF is generally pretty bare bones in the subsystems category and maybe that’s how it should remain, so maybe this idea would be better suited to CvS3 or something like that. Still, if it were done right and weren’t too overbearing, it could work in SF.

My main request for SFV would be that it’s not fast-paced or combo-heavy.
I prefer slow, footsie-based games with a huge focus on strategy and defense.

As well, it should have a serious tone, a largely original cast, and relatively easy inputs and commands so people can figure out the controls right away and just dive into the mind-games and strategies right away.

I’m sort of confused at this thread. I posted a thread kinda like this and the very-first-post was a guy saying “no wishlists” and it just got worse from there. Don’t get me wrong, I love this kind of discussion, but it’s apparently against the rules on SRK!

do people actually know what makes a game to have a fast pace?
having a fast pace doesnt mean that the game wouldn’t have footsies
and in the name of god, what game out there doesnt have a huge focus on strategy and defense?
i swear to god, the amount of assumptions about other types of games is hilarious

yes its against the rules.
more than probable, this one is still open because no one reported it earlier.

I do, but its quite funny reading posts by bumbling idiots.

Around 25 chars
would be nice if the whole character roster was brand new
A decent Story Mode

What I mean is there’s a lot of fast-paced, aggressive games with players commonly doing gazillion-hit combos several times a match where even if someone blocks your attacks, the chip can easily do large amounts of damage, which means you’re better off being overly offensive than being overly defensive most of the time. You know, the kinds of games where doing random supers all-the-time is actually a decent tactic.

And those are the kinds of games I absolutely hate, so I don’t want SFV to be anything like that.

You are such a troll. You just want me to get angry because you think it’s funny.

Elena needs to be in it.

Never played any games in the 3 series

But she’s naked and that’s reason enough to have her in SF5!

Also add Mika! Never played the games, but she shows off her tits and ass so she’s a shoe in.

Karin too! I like schoolgirls. Again I never played A3 before EVER!

SF5 is gonna be awesome guyz!!!

[/Sarcasm]

Am I such a troll? That you discredit some one that has messed with the development tools on the cps2, cps3, and neo-geo? And, Preppy isn’t the only one to have seen how horrible Capcom is at programming.

the best part is that besides marvel 3, which is arguable, none of the games in the market resemble what you are speaking
the lack of understanding on how this games works always leads to this kind of misinformation where people assume that because there are combos that go over 6 hits they start calling combo heavy/centric with gazillion hits that are overly aggressive.

there is neutral game, and is very important to know how to play it, specially if you consider that losing the neutral game on those games leads to a major lose, the difference is that is not necessarily ground based, and not always so passive, as i said on another post, the problem comes from the lack of understanding and misinformation about the new games, many people judge them without knowing how those games are played (even better without playing them), making statements like there is no zoning, they are pure rushdown or that there isnt a spacing game.

you at least should try to know how those games work before passing any type of judgement, what you explained is a gross oversimplification that is way far of how those games are played and work

edit

another thing, i still think that you dont know what makes a game fast paced or not

but i do really want r. mika, elena and karin on a new sf game :frowning:
they were part of the mains that i used on sfa3 and 3s

I really like this sentence. It’s like catching a bunch of words off guard when they thought no one was looking.

SF5 needs a skinny Rufus and for a new character, how about an Inuit to add to SF’s wonderful diversity?

You’re suggestion is valid, sir
1 down!
Hundreds more to go!

Do you want me to say that Marvel 3 is just as strategic and defensive as SSF4?

Do you want me to say that footsies and pokes in Marvel games are just as important for doing damage as in any other game?

Do you want me to say that Marvel 3 has all the same gameplay elements in the same proportion to each other in high-level play as SSF4?

Well guess what? I’m not gonna say any of that, because in my opinion, none of it is even remotely true.

They’re two very different kinds of fighting games, and the enjoyment and skill a person has with one does not automatically transfer into the other, which is why I love playing SSF4 and I’m decent at it, but I hate Marvel and am absolutely terrible at it.

Which is why I don’t want SFV to be like Marvel.
