Ibuki thread

ill try to get on more… whats your sn so i can add you… been busy lately

Okay, this mixup i like a lot …

  • c.roundhouse, s.roundhouse (launch), s.forward xx qcf + roundhouse dash, […]

Too good because normally you can control on which side of the landing opponent you will end on AND it’s a high-low-throw guessing game as well. Sexi

But i have a question about it >>
When the opponent falls after rh launch, i do the forward late to cross them up and early to stay in front of them when they land. The problem is, i cannot do a late s.forward against smaller characters (Yun/Yang, Ibuki, …) because it will whiff then, so i always end up in front of them instead of crossing them up. So, how can i get behind them ?

does this work ??

jump in ???

then lk , mk , hk , XX yami shigure

I’ve never heard of this variant of the strategy… I guess it works if you’ve done it. After the standing forward, if you do a roundhouse command dash it’ll always cross them up. It has in my experience, and I’ve done it on tons of characters. The general rule I use is rh dash to cross up, any other to stay put. Test this because I can’t confirm it right away.

Notice, also, that if you have good timing, you can apply a little more damage and confusing by substituting the forward with the back+strong, fierce chain. If you execute it at just the right time, it will cause a juggle instead of resetting them, allowing you to cancel the chain with an uppercut kick (short, of course).

A tactic I see Andrew Small (Japanese call him the best ibuki player in america) doing is after that standing forward reset, cancel into the rh overhead kick. Goddamnit, what’s it called… hien, I believe? Anyways, I’ve seen him land it almost every time. Unfortunately, due to the character’s general suckiness, that move puts you slightly at their mercy, though if you’re tricky with the daggers you can escape without taking any damage yourself.

And that lk, mk, hk, yami shigure combo will not work. That is, it will not all combo. Plus, any combo into that super other than crouching short reduces the damage by an insane amount. I don’t know what it’s useful for… punishment at any range?

I was afraid somebody would say that  well okay, i will keep experimenting with it a little more.

Even more mixup
yay
i will test that in play
TODAY

yes it does, similar to yun’s standing mk + gj…

no i mean is

jump in , lk->mk->hk->yami-shigure

Are you sure? I was never able to super-jump cancel the three-kick chain, only the sweep and solo roundhouse. I mean, I don’t know why this would make a difference, either… maybe my jump timing for that chain is just always off or something.

oops what i meant was… just standing hk + yami shigure… yeah i don’t think the chain works…:stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

sigh …no wonder everyone hates ibuki …

which is also akuma’s mp->hp …which cannot add jump-in before that

I have trouble crossing under with the command dash too. I think it’s on the smaller characters who fly further. After the dash, I mix up with these:
throw
raida
c.short, raida
short rdp+k (as an overhead)
off-the-ground SA1

i doubt i am the best ibuki player. there are so many that i know just at family fun… alex, tom, allan… but i am flattered

i have a lot of ibuki stuff, but i will write it down and post another time. btw… i gave up on ibuki, fun to play with - yes, easy to win with - no.
i went back to yang (my first char).

Well, I have to say that I posted that because one of my friends at evo alleged that he heard this from one of the japanese there, and I only saw alex in action recently. Doesn’t make your game any worse, but she does require a lot of work which might be better spent with another character.

I can’t remember what alex did, but I saw this a lot in the matches… Crap, I can’t remember how he set it up, but it was a situation in which he reset the opponent and ibuki could either cross up or stay on her side, and alex kept walking back and fourth in that one second to make the opponent guess which side she’d be on. Anyone know what I’m talking about?

you got the vids right?

hk + yami shagure works…

alex gets it everytime… but for some odd reason… i can do mk + genei jin but not that… is the timing different or is it just me? nate’s ibukis sick also:mad:

Ya, it works.

Wow, this is my first time to these forums. I didn’t know you guys talked about me. Well, I basically know all the links with Yami-Shigure since I use to play that as my main SA. I don’t know if I can help much, but go ahead and ask me something and I’ll try to help you out.

This is alright move to do, but playing with advance people like Frankie3S and Pyrolee…you tend to get thrown out of that real easyly. Instead of trying to do:

5HK, 5MK, 236+HK

Do this one:

5HK, 5MK, 236+LK, 236+LK

This will cross them up too, but this is alot more safer cause you can recover faster from the command dash. I’d prefer to do this though:

5HK, 4MP, 4HP, 236+LK…

This is a setup for a reset and a guessing game for either side of the opponent. That’s some good reseting crossups. Have fun.

watup alex :stuck_out_tongue:

i’ve never seen so many scrubs on each others nuts that bad before

hi my 3 bitches from family fun
