Depends on the backdash and setup. Usually option select neckbreaker and sweep are the way to go.
I try to go for frame traps first since it builds meter and does not reset the situation if you guess wrong, unless you get reversaled. Though usually I end up just doing whatever setup I feel like doing unless I’ve spotted my opponent obviously mashing or obviously not teching anything.
Usually crouch tech but it really depends on the situation. eg: against dive kick characters you probably don’t want to do either.
I’m a new player, and I’d really like to main Ibuki, is there anything specifically helpful that I need to know to help. -_-; I need all the help I can get.
Then get acquainted with Ibuki’s moveset, such as her normals, command normals and specials. Each move has its use in specific situations in specific circumstances.
What is appropriate to do after a slide that hits the opponent? I like to use slide to dodge fireballs when I don’t have enough to EX NB but when I actually hit the opponent I find myself at disadvantage unless I backdash. Am I maybe overusing the slide?
I was playing my Ibuki online earlier today against a Yang, he jumped at me, and I did Ibuki’s raida/command grab and caught him in midair. Does anyone know if it works against other characters, or was it just a once off?
It works on everybody. It works because of the big hitbox in front of Ibuki (kind of like the twins’ Palm). But that’s also the reason why it’s not Ibuki’s best antiair. The hitbox is only in front of Ibuki; if they jump higher, or like aim at Ibuki’s head, then raida will most likely miss.
Saw this video today, and I was just curious if meso0616 did the tsujigoe on purpose to bait the tech throw (though he didn’t punish if that was the case). If this is the case, does anyone actually use this for this purpose? I rarely even use this move, and if I do, I’m just really feeling myself at that moment.
He probably just meant to do dash up low jab, but got tsujigoe due to shortcuts.
I doubt you can use it to punish stand tech. Even if you throw an early kunai, your opponent is simply going to recover before you land.
I have yet to see a use for tsujigoe except for meter building, and even using it for that is risky. Either that or for getting out of the corner, but simply SJC-ing a blocked normal is a lot safer.
there is one good use for tsugoe, when done properly on the opponents wakeup, it goes around any srk type move in the game, nice way to bait someone and connect your super.
Is there somekind of a shortcut do to SCJ Kasumi Gake after c.hk s.hk target combo?
I can’t seem to do it consistently. It’s a great mixup but I can’t pull it off everytime, she super jumps most of the time.
Any advice?
I keep trying to do this and for some reason I just can’t…i can’t command dash after close st.hk…i can do it with everything else, i can get the normal aa with b st.mp cmnd dash into the hk, blah blah…but i can’t dash after heavy kick to do a reset =( any help?
