Alright I’ll do that.
Just another question. SJC > u2 I either get command dash or ex kazegiri. What exactly am I doing wrong ?

Possibly incorrect timing (too fast) or incorrect inputs.
The Kazergiri comes out when I do it too fast or the CD ? I was looking over the inputs just to make sure I wasn’t messing them up I don’t think I was I’ll have to double check them again.
If your inputs are wrong then anything could happen. Your inputs should be as clean as possible to avoid any potential problems.
If your inputs are correct but your timing is too fast then EX kazegiri is going to come out. The idea is that you need to “link” U2 after your SJC. If you input U2, you’re also inputting EX kazegiri. So here’s the timing issue. If you input U2 before the SJC, then EX kazegiri will come out, since you can’t cancel into an ultra. But if you input U2 after the SJC, then U2 will come out, since U2 has more priority than an EX move.
As for CD coming out, it’s most likely because you’re not inputting an :uf: for the SJC. This is all to the best of my understanding, but I could be wrong. Just keep practicing.
Alright just to update you guys on my progress since you guys are helping me out. It seems as though I wasn’t waiting for the up forward . I was praticing for a bit today and was able to ultra off of c. MP and TC4. Thanks for the help.
Why is Ibuki’s frame data page on the wiki so incomplete? Shouldn’t someone update it? It lists cr.mp as only jump cancellable. It doesn’t list that f+lk by itself is special cancellable (this is cancellable right? I’m pretty sure my friend who plays ibuki frame traps me with it a lot). I mean, I guess those little nuances of the frame data aren’t that important, but it would be nice if Ibuki’s frame data was as fleshed out as other frame data tables (makoto’s for example).
A more real question:
When my friend who plays Ibuki pulls a mk.tsumuji, why can’t I jump away from the sweep or the standing follow up? I have a minimum 14 frames to jump away. It seems like I should be able to, but I always get nabbed with the kick.
Ohh, you’re right. I wasn’t taking into account that the third kick starts up before the end of the recovery of tsumuji. I was just looking at the fact that mk.tsumuji is 0 on block and adding 15 frames to it for the start up of the third kick. stupid me.
@Izuna: if it’s a 3f gap, it’s not large enough because jumping has 4f startup. ie: you’re not off the ground until 4 frames. Super Street Fighter IV - Shoryuken Wiki, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Strategy and More!
As for updating the SRK wiki for Ibuki, yeah we don’t have many people willing to take the time to do it, sorry. SSF4 seems to be dieing, thanks to AE and especially MvC3.

You’re not airborne on the first frame. You’re still on the ground for 4 frames, hence 4 frame startup.
You’re not airborne, but you still have throw invincibility.
Just read the wiki. It clarifies everything.
sigh I think i’m getting to my breaking with ibuki. I knew she was a high execution character howev it’s stiil frustating. I haven’t mastered her SJC yet nor have perfected her vortex game. It’s starting to get to me when I play online. I’m not too sure what if I should drop her or continue to press on. I’ve played with some other ibuki’s and some others even gave me advice. I’n not seeing much improvement in my ibuki nor any growth and IDK what to do nemore. /rant
It’s the same deal when I first got/modded my stick and started practicing on it (less than two weeks ago) and I couldn’t even do qcf’s, nevermind TKCS or SJC’s. But now my TKCS execution is about 50% or so, and I can usually SJC anything and everything except SJC U2.
The best advice I can give you is to grind in training mode… a lot. I’m talking a few hours every day of straight up execution drills, or for as long as you can bear it, then take a break and continue training later. Yeah you’ll feel the urge to see how you’ve improved by going up against real players in real matches, but ultimately it’s going to be pointless. Imo your time would be best spent in the training room until you can 100% operate your character without even thinking about it.
ugh you’re execution is only @50% of what it’s normally at sigh I have been praticing a lot more than I normally do though.
It’s fine. Mastering execution is not an overnight kind of thing. Many people spend months trying to learn stick, nevermind difficult techniques like TKCS and SJC on a stick. Just be happy with the progress you’ve made thus far. Certainly it’s farther than the average joe that basically said “fuck execution” and then have their bnb combo be j.HK , cr.HK. And then they say “fuck trying to read my opponent” and then continue to mash dp/ultra every 5 seconds.
You gotta have… A lot of patience with Ibuki. Mastering her execution is difficult, but very rewarding in the end. I haven’t even mastered her SJC into U2 yet, but everyday for about 15 mins or so (recommended higher times), I practice that until I can more chances of landing it. I been using the vortex for… 4 months? I know how to make them ambiguous more frequently, because I understood the concept, and I used it many, many times. Practice on your own in training room and keep learning the new things they teach you.
If you still have trouble, practice against really good players. It will teach you alot more.
I’m on pad though. I think if I was on stick I’d be a lot worse off then what I am now which is pretty scary to think about. The TK motion isn’t bad (thank you Cable) however, the SJC is taking me a while to get. Well I wanted to try and challenge myself that’s why I started playing ibuki.
I typically start my practice off with target combos then do vortex then practice SJC. My goal is to be in the lab for like a hour. However, if I’m executing really well I tend to move on and practice the vortex and SJC. I have played some really good players. I learned a lot when I played the other ibuki’s a couple of days ago I just need to work on adding it to my game.
if ur on pad trying to sjc into ultra 2 (for example tc4 into ultra 2) the easiest way to start off getting that down atleast for me was to just rotate the analog stick in a 540 degree rotation right after or as soon as u hit hp then all 3 kicks so it would be st. lp mp hp d,df,f,uf,u,ub,b,db,d,df,f,uf all 3 kicks and once u get the timing down eventually it wont matter if u try to sjc with analog or dpad like me i can do it with both but i still perfer the analog stick to use to sjc instead of dpad
ah I can’t use the analog feels weird.
I use it. And I’m using an xbox controller. =S
