Ibuki Q&A Thread: Ask simple questions here!

Alright seriously is there’s any use for Tsumuji.FK ~ FC? :S like really i tired everything and there’s not a single way that i can use that for my favour of usefulness … >_> lol
the only thing i can think of is trap/mind game which to be honest , tis the worst…like who will do just tsumuji kick~ FC just to throw or U1 …i dont know

anybody know any combo involving tsumuji.FK into focus cancel?

^ If you manage to land mk or hk tsumuji, you should just go for the untechable knockdown. Sorry, but I can’t see anything useful in FADCing her hk tsumuji. You waste 2 EX bars, you can’t combo into anything afterward, and I’m pretty sure you can get reversal’d in between.

And guys, xxteefxx made a mistake. Get over it. If I remember correctly, he didn’t really play SFIV so he probably didn’t know how ambiguous cross-ups with projectiles worked.

hey man. will to be honest, yes am new to SF4 series. i only bought SSf4 just because of Ibuki, and started learning sf4 just before ssf4 comes out by like 1 week that’s all. but as a general knowledge, the idea of the cross over with projectiles etc…aint new ya know, like am not new to fighting games, am just new to SF4 thats all. the reaosn why i though Ibuki cross up wasnt a cross up because i remember i read somewhere that it’s not a cross up as well as blockable by either crouching or standing. so when i tried to do it by myself in trainng, i had auto block on…which shows u the animation as if cpu was on the same side, But doesnt show u cpu input…so i though it was only blocked one way, and moved on afterwards with the learning ya know lol.
and yah, it’s a nubby thing ofcourse…but to be honest, wasnt that major to me >_> i dont fight lotta Ibuki’s and any Ibuki i fought i did beat so far except like 2 people

though thnx Orikasa

and yah, tsumuji cancel is like the most Useless thing Ibuki have >< lol…i tired (for funzies) to catch opponent in air with it and then Focus cancel into something…ALSO doesnt work , like really why would anybody use such a thing lol

man i play bison and ibuki, and neither of em has a fun FADC game :frowning:

He does it in pretty much all his matches. I just checked out one at random. Here, at 00:13 and 1:13, you can see him doing dash into instant air kunai.

He’s definitely doing a regular jump. If Ibuki super jumps, she always yells “AHHHHH” when she leaves the ground.

Like with every link:

too early: it doesn’t come out
too late: it gets blocked

I find Kazegiri xx FADC > st.hk xx SJC > cr. hp fun.

Yeah IMO Ibuki has some surprisingly fun stuff she can do with FADC. I didn’t think she’d be much of an FADC based character and she can kinda live without it but she has some funny mix ups using it.

What are the advantages of ex raida aside from added damage and quicker recovery? Does it have any invulerability or better grab box?

It has a larger hitbox (more range). Also it has a bunch more stun.

yeah just dash forward, and jump kunai really fast

I’m wanting to know if that is safe or not, because whenever I try stuff like that it’s always unsafe, and I eat a grab or something.

Depends if it’s blocked and where you are in your jump animation when they wakeup.

whats the best way to make it safer?

I’m pretty sure it can’t be made safe, just gotta hope it hits. I’d only ever do this super jumping backwards, so if it does it… cool. But if it gets blocked, I’d rather not take damage.

Instead of doing what momochi does in that video, I go for a regular jump type of vortex instead. You don’t give up frame advantage if it’s blocked, I believe, like a regular vortex.

Not 100% sure, but Jordunable may be right. You just have to hope it hits otherwise your opponent has a decent frame advantage when doing it momo’s way.

Its safe. You still have frame advantage if you time the insta-kunai properly. You just need to do it fast. Practice it off of neckbreaker. Its easier than sjc vortex once you get the speed down.

Its harder to do off of tsumuji though. The timing is more strict. Watch alexlkd’s videos. He does the same vortex as well.

How do you practice vortex against reversals? Is there a way to make the training dummy reversal every time it’s knocked down?

Select yourself as some character with a reversal you want to test, and Ibuki as the dummy. Then record Ibuki the dummy doing a vortex. Then play it back to make sure the vortex is correct. Then keep it on playback and try to reversal out of it.

Record yourself as Ryu and mash shoryuken. Neckbreaker them, then practise the vortex.
