Yeah that’s basically how it works. ALL high Tsumujis are true block strings no matter the strength. Though as soon as u go for a low sweep u lose the block string status and can get reversaled on any tsumuji. So if u wanna use Tsumuji’s for block string pressure don’t do sweeps and you’ll be good. Best to use MK tsumuji for block string pressure since it’s 0 on block. LK tsumuji is best to use during hit confirm combos because of the setups for the loop but it’s neg 4 on block.

I just faced a Dhalsim online who kept teleporting right next to me and headbutting me. How do I punish that? Can I? I guess I can block but it seems so punishable.

Just press any button. Dhalsim has recovery during his teleports before he can hit you. If he’s just doing random forward teleports at you (good Sims don’t do this) then just press s.MP, s.MK, s.HK or just randomly keep jumping away and pressing a button. It’s free as long as u see the white flash.

s.HK (juggle) followed by j.HK does good damage if for some reason Dhalsim wants to teleport next to you.

Watch out that the startup is always DPable! If your combo is blocked, any Tsumuji you launch to finish your combo and try to get some chip damage can be DP’d :confused:

I just looked at Ryus frame data and found out why tatsu is so hard to punish on block. Its -2! on block for mk and hk and -6 for lk so who would even use the lk? heh but whats the best punish? Ducking and C.FP?

Also should I be using Raida more? I see myself catching limbs and whiff attacks by accident with it often. Worth using for that much? I cant get Raida to be to useful so its usually blocked on their wakeup or stuffed.

Pick Ultra 1. MK and HK hurricane kicks on block are free grab ultra 1 reverse. Good Ryu players don’t throw hurricanes around like mad men but for the scrubby ones that are always online picking Ultra 1 is a free win. You can also stuff out hurricanes before they hit you with b+MP. You can also just crouch under them and punish if the first or second hit doesn’t hit you standing.

If you don’t have ultra yet, use hp.neckbreaker to chase Ryu as he lands after his tatsu, or cr.HK for an untechable knockdown as well, and then start vortexing/mixup/etc.

You should probably pick U1 anyways because even good Ryu’s will try to use dp xx fadc to get their U1 off, which you can block and punish with reversal U1.

Ok ultra 1 confuses me that’s y I stopped using it. I pull it off perfect in training but when
I go online and do it all I get is the giant red burst of fail wht isn’t it connnecting? I thought it was a grab…also what are some good ways to land it? I’m using a pad so the Input isn’t always easy

The grab version of ultra 1 has very small range. They have to be right next to you or it doesn’t grab. Though the grab is 2 frames of start up which means it can be jumped out of. Though that’s why it’s better to use it in a reversal situation after blocking a move like hurricane kick because the ultra punishes as if it was a 1 frame ultra. They can’t jump out if their hurricane kick gets blocked or if they FADC and dash forward (as long as u use reversal timing).

sigh Any help on Rufus? I’ve been encountering alot of Rufus players alot lately and while I have gotten some wins, I don’t “feel” confident in that match up yet. When they start with their dive kick pressure, all I do is try to block but i’d eventually get hit with one and that’s easy U1. On wake up, I try to backdash their dive kick but when in the corner I usually try to HK command dash which only works sometimes. Against him, all I can really do is jump back and throw kunais, really annoying matchup.

^I need help with the Rufus matchup to. I can’t breath with his dive kick. Only time I do damage is with a knockdown and vortex =/

I stopped using Ibuki Ultra 1 after I saw everyone using U2. U1 was awesome while I was using it tho.
How much does lag mess with button inputs? I’m doing links offline but are they worth trying online?

  1. It takes me literally 10 plus minutes to get into a ranked match. When I do at least 50 percent of the time the connections is too bad to be practicing something as difficult to master as links.
  2. Well all of us here in scrub land are happy for your perfect linking capabilities but that is simply not an option for me yet. Getting closer though.

I need to move away from BFE

Ive been laying off the neckbreaker vortex setups and been trying to mess with her normals to play a footsies game. Her pokes are pretty weak. Been trying to use df.mk to get in but it seems pretty useless even on hit. Dunno what to followup on it cuz it gives shit frames.

Just wondering but is Focus attack >Dash> lk. Tsumiji a good move to get in? Seems to be working on projectile spammers pretty well.

lk. Tsumiji is a decent move for footsies too. slow startup but good range

Try frame trapping standing or crouching jab.

lk.tsumuji has a slow 12 frame startup. If you’re focusing fireballs to get in, just focus and TC or throw. Getting in on projectile spammers shouldn’t be a problem with df.mk and ex neckbreaker.
