What?
I’ll try to explain it better. When we chain two or more light attacks the game doesn’t allow to special cancel the last attack. However, if you link those, the special attack comes out. I was wondering if the target combos follow the same rule or not. For example, if you chain the first lp of TC4, (cr.lp, st.lp)does the rest (mp, hp) come out normally? Or do you have to link it?
Target combos don’t follow the same standard as chained combos, like chained lights. For example, Ken’s st.MP xx st.HP target combo is special cancellable. Ibuki’s TC4 is special cancellable. But TC5 and TC9 are not.
I dunno wtf you’re asking in the last question. Chain the first st.LP with what?
Target combos are inputted with chain timing, not link timing.
I appreciate your patience but that’s not it. I can do a tc and cancel them to specials. But my doubt is if it’s possible to do the following: lp (chain) lp (chain) TC4’s lp. Or you have to lp (link) TC4’s lp?
cl.st.LP , cl.st.LP is definitely a link.
Does each character rise from an untechable knockdown on a different frame?
i dont know about each character but some do get up faster than others…like adon for example
Would there happen to be a spreadsheet or chart that tells me this information, then? Since it’d tamper with the set ups I use and such.
Iirc, only three characters in the game get up later: Sagat, Cammy, and Blanka.
And then of course you have to watch out for glitched wakeups with extra invincibility, like Yang and Gen.
This was true in Super SF4. In AE, I’m 99% sure no character gets up earlier. And I’m 100% sure Adon currently does not get up faster than others anymore (one of his AE nerfs).
Something happens to me really often when training: if I get my meter fully charged, and then try to high jump -> kunai, I very often end up doing a Kasumi Suzaku instead.
Am I really wrong on my inputs there? do I absolutely need to have only something like cr.HP - 1 9 - 236 MP ?
I think I’m not that used to the stick yet, but I often high jump by inputting a half circle (2369 for example), should I stop doing that?
i have the same problem.
Yes.
Though I never bothered having perfect SJ execution, so what I do is just burn meter asap like on random EX kunai (I don’t need super anyways) or just go for regular jump vortex/okizeme or non kunai vortex.
What are some good examples of post-Focus Attack resets?
Depends on the character, how close you and your opponent are to the corner, and what you’re aiming for (damage, stun, or just crazy mixup?).
A rare and underused (but not very damaging or stunning) reset would be delayed slide. Obvious and overused resets would be Ibuki’s launcher combos, though I’m sure you can really mix it up depending on your opponent and if you’ve ever used it before. If your opponent is in the corner, EX tsumuji into cr.HP into mini vortex is pretty good. Getting the best of all three worlds would be tsumuji loop into TC10 reset. The “best” mixup you can do is probably the cl.st.HK mixups. ie: FA , hk.cd , b+MP xx cd , cl.st.HK xx SJC cd , cr.HP xx whatever.
The Japanese book states that characters have different wake-up times depending on the knockdown. Whether they land on their front, or back. Also Ibuki has different timings of off a Tsumuji/Neckbreaker/cr.HK due to recovery, as well as distances being different.
This is why simply mixing up Tsumuji and Neckbreaker make your Vortex ambiguous.
Can you give some examples?

I often saw Sako going by backdash - j.HP, cr.MP xx neckbreaker. Looks pretty damaging
Anyway I try to mix it up as often as possible:
Backdash - j.HP - Target Combo [insert number I don’t know here] s.HP-cr.HK-HK xx SJC MK/HK Kasumi Gake (or any kind of launcher combo using this cr.HK-HK thing, but this one is the most damaging I know)
Backdash - j.HP - cl.HK - SJC LK Kasumi Gake - cr.HP SJC to cross up sj.LK. Unless your opponent knows this particular input (or has awesome reaction times), he’ll very often be surprised by the crossup jump. Problem is the timing to SJC a cl.HK is pretty strict.
Or a good tsumuji loop, but you gotta be confident and pretty sure to place it correctly
Anyway, if the good players out there can give me their opinion on these post-focus set ups (Mingo I’m summoning you), it’d be nice to have a feedback from a real good Ibuki, which is not my case.
?
Since when can you FA xx backdash and still have time to do anything? Videos plox.
I suppose he means after Stun. The most damaging you can do is j.HP, cr.HP xx High Jump xx Hashinsho if you have a full Revenge bar.
Now I just go for j.HP, st.HK xx High Jump xx LK Kasumi Gake, cr.HP - or j.HP, cr.HP xx High Jump xx LK Hien if I have Super.
Depends on how much health is left, and it depends on what causes the stun. Just pure focus you may as well do st.MP, st.MP, st.MK xx Neckbreaker or HK Kazegiri, EX Tsumuji. Tsumuji Loop if you can, but you’re not getting much off of it.
