Ibuki and Basics

you don’t need to super jump for the kunai to hit. usually you super jump so that the set-up is safer and you land on the opposite side. if they are focusing out of the vortex you dont SJ so that you land on the same side. basically you just have to learn the timing and set-ups. you use the light kunai. It isnt THAT hard to do online but it is easy to mess up with lag like everything is.

About the frame trap, yeah if you follow up with a move that has 5 frame start up in that scenario you will hit at the exact same time he does…however i dont believe there are any normals in this game with a 2 frame start-up. you want to have a 2-3 frame gap because most people with be crouch teching so you want to punish their cr.lk which usually has a 3-4 frame start-up.

also if ryu juggles after the shoryuken like in izunas post you can use raida to force another knockdown situation.

Most of the people do not care and do not even bother with thinking of helping someone, especially not in the world wide web, but you guys spend your time and answer newbie questions. I feel kinda bad, because I can´t give you anything but a thanks back.
Ehm, is it possible that Juri is a hard counter to Ibuki, or do I just have a hard time with her. It seems that her Pinwheel Kick (Fuhajin) is something unblockable for me. The opponent only has to spam it and I lose for sure. When I decide to turtle, it is just a matter of time when I lose my patience and start attacking, which ends up in a lost game.

Ibuki vs. Juri

Her HK and EX Fuhajin is punishable by cr.MP xx Neckbreaker, or Hashinsho (U2). Also, EX Fuhajin will trade with a meaty attack – st.MP (blocked) st.MK will actually trade with EX Fuhajin, which means Ibuki has a very good time with pressuring Ibuki. In my opinion, the only hard about this match-up is Ibuki’s inability anti-air Juri’s LK dive-kicks on reaction, but if you ever block an EX or 2+ hit one, do a full combo to punish.

LK Fuhajin is a pretty good move, but is -4 on block. Usually you can punish it, but you can do cr.MK or st.MK (in AE) after blocking to initiate pressure. In AE st.MK will trade with EX Fuhajin, and remember, if you block an EX Fuhajin, punish it hard.

Eventually Juri players stop using it outside of combos, and that’s where she becomes a not very good character. She does have a nasty kara-throw though.

what about juri is giving you an issue? also we have a match-up thread.

you os the tsumuiji after f+lk by buffering the special during the moves active frames. if it hits the move comes out, if blocked the move comes out, on whiff the move will not come out… this is also useful with cr.mp OS NB
