any kind of feedback is welcome. I’m still really new to Sakura but I’m starting the more serious learning now.
Just some things to keep in mind after watching the match. Chun’s wall-jump can be punished with cr.HP, as it is her solid anti-air (LP Shou as well but a bit more risky and slower) and makes Sakura small hitbox wise. I believe it beats out A LOT of moves so don’t be afraid to use it.
Seemed like you were more cautious of the Chun in question; like a bunch of j.HK >> cr.MK pokes but nothing really following up after. Mind you, she relies heavily on her EX moves and the end thumbnail of the video you have 2 bars left that could’ve been put to good use; if not got you the win. I do however like that U2 setup, extremely effective and something I should incorporate in my game over U1.

Yeah I don’t have all that much matchup experience with her with Cammy let alone Sakura. So I need to learn the matchup a little better. I know I won and everything, but when I use Sakura I feel like i’m relying on her ex tatsu too much. Is there a big reason to use combos ending in shouryu rather than tatsu all the time?

You can end your combo’s with Shoryu’s if you want, it’s a good way to mix things up although once you start a combo link-wise, the opponent knows they’re screwed. EX Tatsu, of course, makes way for different options – U1, U2, otoshi, air reset with j.LK, j.HK etc with the ability to run cross-up by running underneath the character, thus starting another combo from the other side which will get most people, especially if you don’t break it out all the time or they’ll anticipate it. I’m not sure whether ending with an EX Shou per se will grant you more dmg or stun but definitely viable for play granted if you can do it. Sakura may not have much going for her, but mind-games IS required to master her. Spamming EX tatsu every time means the opponent can read you better and better, so just adapt and mix it up. You could even combo ending with a Shoyru the entire match, and EX tatsu his ass and punish him in the worst way. People aren’t too keen on the Sho’s considering her running forward a little bit with the exception of LP, which is a really good anti-air next to cr.HP. I for one really don’t use them except her reversal EX Sho on wake-up (catches more people than you think), HP Sho after cr.MK poke play, and LP for anti-air if I can get a correct read.
