Could Hawkeye possibly use something like Sentinel’s drones or Amaterasu’s cold star (or really any long lasting assist) to keep the opponent locked after doing his single arrow level 1 hyper and be able to combo afterwards or at least pull off another hyper? The hyper kinda looks like it’d be fast enough.
I don’t know, but you did give me a nice idea, since one of hawkeyes main zoning weaknesses at the moment is his lack of ability to shoot downwards which cold star would fill rather nicely.
Yeah, and since it would keep the opponent in blockstun, you could get pretty nasty mixups with those flips…
Also, I’d like to create the team-building thread once the game drops. Too bad the main thread already took the best title, lol.
He can flip back and shoot down.
I know right? I asked the OP if he could change this threads title to “worlds greatest marksman at your service” or some version of that statement(if its too long) so someone can use the “I make any team better” for the team building thread. But hey worst case scenario, go with “THEY NEED ME!!!”
Posted this in the Nova thread, but it has to do with Hawkeye too.
Really looking forward to Nova after seeing him. I’m relatively set on using Taskmaster and Hawkeye and want to throw Nova into the mix. I think keepaway is going to be a lot stronger with Task’s and Hawkeye’s arrows combined, and I’m trying to think of where Nova will fit best on the team. Point or anchor? I know the consensus seems to be anchor, but I’m wondering if Nova’s tricky overheads/OTGs and screen control, and maybe even his little aegis reflector, upward ground bounce javelin and dive punch cross ups would make him a better point when combined with Task’s horizontal arrows and then Hawkeye’s poison arrow maybe to tag the opponent during one of Nova’s crumple combos. Plus he can DHC into Hawkeye’s insta tracking golden arrow pretty easily. Tasky isn’t the best anchor, BUT he will be better now in that role since he can air x-factor and link his legion arrows after any throw or any combo really.
I just don’t know! Plus this is all theorycrafting anyway. Opinions?
Hawkeye is looking really good and I’m pretty sure he’s best in the #2 slot. I’m guessing he’d benefit more from having Tasky as 3rd assist to have insane lockdown with Tasky’s horizontal arrows while he shoots the upward scattershot. Any Nova assists that would benefit Hawkeye? I’m wondering where you could tag the opponent with his poison assist in any of these combos, and Nova looks like there might be opportunities since he can OTG and crumple in a bunch of ways.
I know what all of Nova’s assists are, but since there is no official movelist out for him I don’t know what they do. I really see Nova on point or anchor. He has mobility and looks like he won’t be assist dependent to mount his offense. What Hawkeye is really going to need is a good GTFO assist because he looks sort of powerless from close range (except his slide). If Nova has one, I’d go for that.
Apparently Nova has his little aegis reflector as an assist which stops projectiles and bounces people away… that might be a really effective tool to keep people out while Hawkeye hails arrows from a distance.
Way too many people sleeping on Nemesis. I heard his clothesline has armor on it and wall bounces,I think he will make a great GTFO me assist. Plus Nemesis also benefits from the partnership because Hawkeye has two good cover assist.
I have been debating for awhile what my third preset team will be and I’m thinking Hawkeye/Nemmy/Doom would have pretty damn good team chemistry.
Personally, I’d put Nemmy on point. Hawkeye makes a great second slot.
I already have a team with Hawkeye at second and it’s my 2nd preset team from the future Cap/Hawkeye/Doom.
I think Hawkeye will be great on point with Doom missiles and Nemmy’s big left hand keeping everyone off him. PLus I want Nemmy to big a huge threat when I DHC or tag him in because he’ll have meter.
Clint builds the meter and Doom covers Nemesis on his way to rape you with his tentacles.
The vertical arrow assist with Nemmy is scary. Either they are forced to block so you can mount your offense, or the opponent is forced to come close to you to avoid them.
I could use vertical arrow yes if I don’t put Doom on the team and instead use Trish who is also good. But I was thinking I’d use Clint’s horizontal arrows as they are stronger than Tasky’s arrows and I think faster.
no hawkeye love? hawkeye is looking like one of the best characters out of the new 12 (and maybe in the game now). i’m speculating super scattered shot will allow for untechable aerial exchanges, which’ll be good considering more characters seem like they’ll be able to take better advantage of because of airdash utility buffs. hawkeye is certainly looking like a first slot character to me. he can probably do well in the two slot, or even the third considering certain things fall into place, but the lead-off character position really seems optimal IMO.
I don’t know, but I really don’t see Hawkeye on point. He’s largely a support character and putting him in second lets your point rushdowner get in without making Hawkeye an anchor (which I don’t think he can do well either).
Hawkeye on point backed with a vertical and a horizontal assist is incredibly strong.
I might pair hawkeye with super skrull, use his arrow assist to cover his command grab attempts. Not entirely sure yet what team ill be running hawkeye on.
This is what I did with Deadpool in vanilla with great success so people can easiliy put Hawkeye on point as he has less zoning ability than what Wade has.
With that said my main team will still be Pool/Task/Doom with my backup team Pool/Hawk/Doom, Cap,Hawk,Doom Hawk/Task/Doom,Hawk/X-23/Trish, Hawk/Ghost Rider/Doom, Hawk/Nemesis/Doom.
I might have to drop Viper and Shehulk for Nemmy and Ghost RIder.
I wanna body Weskers with Clint.
Random supers with Wesker "You mean no-"Gold Arrow to the face :3
Unfortunately, I feel like teleporters are going to be one of his worst nightmares in the matchup department.
