I lost my job, but

Apply for jobs and unemployment

It’s your best choice now

At will employment, they don’t need a reason.
You sign when you start that either of you can terminate the employment at any time.

It might be worth contacting a lawyer to get info about wrongful termination. (depending on where you live and if it is a work at will employment state of course) Possibly contact you employers and state what you have found out.

However, be VERY careful about suing the company. Even if you win it could (and likely will) be a black mark upon your resume when you start searching for another job. Blacklists do exist and its next to impossible to get your name off one once it gets put on. I know one guy who got on one in the biotech industry and basically lost his home and is barely living above the poverty line now. No one will hire him in anything above a min wage job due to him suing for wrongful termination about 10 years ago. (which he won so its all the more screwed up)

Life is rough in the US. In France it’s illegal to fire someone like that.

Yeah suing companies can make other companies wary. It shouldn’t work that way, but it does. Sue as a last resort.

fuck that noise. Sue them, and leave a blank spot on your resume. When asked about the blank spot, just bring up your previous business not allowing references (I’ve worked at many a company that will refuse to acknowledge that you worked there). Feel free to describe your duties and such, but that they don’t do employee references.

You should sue them. Stand up for yourself and sue them. Then go back and desecrate the building and slash tires and such.

disappointed the first line wasnt “…i got high doe”
