As cheap as the SE controller is - why not simply just purchase another one off of eBay (used or otherwise… doesn’t matter) and transplant that PCB into your preferred case? The connections will match up perfectly, you might not have to sodder or cut a damn thing and the issue of worrying over whether you will have a home button or general compatibility will be a mute point.
Good question!
I have two answers:
- You brought up that suggestion too late :shake:
- I am impatient
Monoprice is definitely cheaper. $1.52 for a 10’ cable, or $1.94 for a 15’ one. Great quality. I use their cables for everything.
very helpful diagram!
buut… where does the cthulhu go :
Below the Joystick I just said.
That blank space you see is where the Xbox 360 PCB from Mad Catz goes if you open an Xbox 360 Mad Catz Arcade FightStick.
ooh, gotcha
Alrighty, now moving on (and just to be sure) I strip the end to THESE (circled in green) wires, including the ones on the joystick cable?
Except for the small circle on left.
You just strip the wires from the big circle on right.
oh yeah my mistake
hmm some of the wires (3p, 3k) don’t reach the cthulhu. i’ll have to splice them with the 4p,4k wires, which i removed. any tips on how to do this?
What if you place Cthulhu where the Mad Catz Terminal is?
hmm… if you mean the top part where the menu button was that’s too far away. if you mean that place where all the buttons connected to, then there’s only one screw hole. enlighten me
I don’t have anything to enlighten you.
Why not just glue the Cthulhu like Matrix did?
Because I would have just screwed down Cthulhu with one screw.
I don’t know where else to place it.
god lol, guess i’m just gonna try screwing it with one screw, glue sounds electro-bad and my mind’s going for the elmers on top of the fridge.
