Looks like I’m getting the 360 repaired for free by microsoft, despite the warranty being gone. It’s just a paid repair service, free of charge due to the rrod issue.

I was on hold for an hour and re-registered it direct with microsoft, which gave it clean slate. So, the warranty was over, but it is still a microsoft registered 360, which gives it free repair for a couple more years if there is a three red light-causing hardware failure.
Basically, I just tried every angle from square one. I have to provide my own box, etc, but they send a pre-paid shipping stamp for UPS and I drop it off at UPS, it comes back within the month. Sweet deal. Thanks, Jeff!
Yeah the warranty is like three years or some ish, no receipt needed since it should be under the Microsoft warranty and not the store’s responsibility. At least that is what I think.
