You’ve only had your shoryu account for three months. Stay on a little longer and you will pick up some good stuff.
OK, I’ll get in on the seriouspost train as well.
It takes some people years to begin figuring this stuff out - I was one of them. You may just have to take your beatings for a long time before things become natural - blocking mixups, picking the right spot to land a throw, awareness of zoning, etc.
And this shit should not be life or death to you. If it is, take a break and invest your energy in something else. Who knows, you might even learn something that could apply to gaming!
Tears.
If you need to rely on other people padding your ego or encouraging you, you’re going to go nowhere in anything you do.
Whiners don’t get help or sympathy from anyone. Either quit without trying to make the world care, or look at the people who are AT where you want to be and find ways to get better. “I’m quitting X hobby” threads are the most attention-seeking wastes of everyone’s time. You shouldn’t need other people’s input on the subject.
Josh-TheFunkDOC and Ghaleon pretty much posted my exact thoughts on this.
maybe you should find another reason to play this game instead of placing in the top at some tourny.
your attitude is all wrong.
I figured this was a bait post.
My mistake?
Seriously slevin - it’s going to take a while to get good.
If you are on GGPO, then you’re probably playing some really, really skilled opponents.
Losing to them should be a real life tutorial on how to play the game.
Analyze your losses and learn.
God, that sounds like a Ryu win quote…

But seriously, if you have locals who are good at fighting games, much less ST, you should be grateful. Take that beating like a trooper and stop sitting on the stick.
I’m 24 now and I started playing seriously when I was 12. Do the math on that one. I just RECENTLY started placing pretty well(13th, 8th, etc) in ST last year. It takes time to do this. You just don’t become a fighting game god over night.
High mid tier: Baked Lays
Roll Tier: Any Doritos that are not Nacho Cheese
i give up too.
wait, what are we talking about again?
It takes years and years to get good and understand these things. People nowadays don’t have the patience. If you have only been playing for a few months, you should be getting raped. That is just the way it is, and it will never change.
It come out next we son, on the 26 for Live though, not so much for PSN.
And it’s on my birthday, like i might as well buy all that day
Fritos are interesting because they’re just three natural ingredients (corn, corn oil, and something else, in that order). But yeah, Fritos are piss.
Can’t believe you guys are sleeping on Funyuns, so broke they put ST Akuma to shame.
… Oh, yeah, speaking of ST, just take a break for awhile. DS made a good point also.
if you didn’t give a shit then why would you post… simple logic:
if you cared: you would post (in this case you did)
if you didn’t: you wouldn’t post.
as far as me quiting is concerned… im not gonna throw in the towel just yet. my first post was out of frustration, and you guys make very good points. this stuff takes time, and yes im far from being at the at the point i want to be if im gonna compete. also, i shouldn’t take this much to seriously because i have lots to learn. Anyways, bottom line… ya live and you learn.
as far as me wasting forum space is concerned… (a) ive seen a lot more stupid shit on here that wastes a ton of “forum space”… (b) people that did post probably felt the same way as me at one point or another (in this case frustration)… and © free speech (isnt America great!).
so is this like a cry for help kinda thing?
I played in '94, took a long break from videogames, and have been playing my ass off for 2 years. I will still get on GGPO and play someone who will hand me my ass repeteadly with Zangeif or Ken. You’re looking at it all wrong. You don’t lose, you learn. You keep trying things until you see what works. You develop new ways to do damage. After you get basics down, you find new ways of mixing up moves to keep your attacks fresh. Never run the same pattern repeatedly. Don’t open a round the same way. I’m sure this has all been said thousands of times elsewhere on this site, maybe even in this thread. Either you have the drive to learn, or you don’t.
Fuck that.
Jalapeno Doritos are Over-God tier.
And Habanero Doritos are: Point, Click, Win.
not really… i know what to do now… just chill and take it easy
SRK is not your personal blog.
yeah i hear you. you know what they say: there’s getting it done… and not getting it done.
I’d respect you and this topic more if you hadn’t made that argument in it’s defense
Now you just look like a self centered baby
Basically this
More people need to learn this about public forums in general and realize that the talking names on them don’t exist just to serve your needs
