This weeks casuals will be community driven!
OMG & Huberdozer will be in charge of casuals as Commando/Temjin and Binkley may not be able to show up this week. (we may show up really late) hardware that is already there for you guys to use are 2xAsus monitors 2xSD TV’s 1xVisio TV (without VGA cable it will lag i will make sure there is one there for you guys.). OMG & Huberdozer will be bringing a system each with games. Commando/Temjin will lend what ever hardware he can. OMG will update you guys on Thursday on all the equipment that they will have at casuals. so if you can help out post up and let them know.
FYI the rate will still be the same. ($5 / all night!)
Also I will probably be contributing a system with Marvel + AE including a setup if OMG wants it.
i can bring my systems the only thing if have close to a good monitor is my 32 inch which i can bring as well. let me me know huber or donnie
I think we might just need some extra systems, I will talk to Mando tonight.
So far We will have 2 setups for MvC3, SSFIVAE, and SF3OE each. Working on getting a setup for the MK9 players. Elimination brackets will be held for all three games. 2xElim for SSFIVAE this week, and single elim for the others. If there are any changes I’ll let everyone know.
good games last night fellas…need to get more people to come out but we will im sure…
yea good games. lol if i didnt drop marvel i coulda been playing that. We didnt have enough people for AE
this week we will not be running casuals at Monstore. the venue there will be running a big event all day Saturday. we are looking in to a different venue this week. we will post up as soon we get confirmation.
Ok guys this Saturday we’ll be doing casuals at Pitzer College, from 5:30PM to 11:30PM.
Pitzer College
1050 North Mills Ave.
Claremont, CA 91711
It’ll be $3 to play all night, spectators are free. We will be using wrist bands / sign in sheet. Note that it’s FREE to members of the Claremont Colleges (part of the deal so we can use the space) so there may be students / new people there. I am hoping we can have 1 newbie station to teach newcomers about games so we don’t have a situation where you guys are all beating down n00bs to clear the queues. :razzy: I basically started a Video Game Club at the college and we are getting space through that and it’s open membership to everyone in the Claremont Colleges.
It will be held in Mead Living Room, which is located on the outside of building #11 on this map:
http://www.pitzer.edu/about/maps/map_quickreference.html
You should park in either Sanborn (#17) or** East Mesa** (#15 on map) parking. You shouldn’t have any issues, if you get a ticket give it to me and I’ll deal with it.
Please post up if you can bring a system/games and/or a monitor. I’m not sure we will have SD setups so there might not be a 3S station. If you are bringing equipment please try to arrive around 5PM so we can set it up by 5:30. (I or Mando will post tomorrow/Saturday with the final list of setups + games.)
As always, BRING YOUR OWN CONTROLLER. This is especially important as I’m sure random students will be using my loaners.
A couple of notes
100% of the proceeds (minus whatever I’m charged for the room) will go towards the stream fund. Mando recently took out a loan to get a new laptop for the stream, so I would like him to get some money so he can pay it back ASAP.
The nearest public bathrooms are probably in McConnel (#9) or** Broad Hall** (#2, directly across from the room). Both of these places are locked after certain hours, so you might have to go to Bernard (#7) for bathrooms. I also have the key to Broad Hall so I can let people in to access the bathrooms later in the night.
There’s no real food or drink options beyond vending machines, so plan on either leaving to get food (Foothill Blvd is close) or come with food. You can eat in the room, but please clean up after yourselves. (We’re better than the card players at Monstore!) If there is interest we can split the cost of pizzas.
If you get lost, just ask someone where Mead Hall is. Mead Living Room is next to Career Services and across from CAPAS in a courtyard. It’s an outside room so it should be easy to find if you walk around Mead Hall.
If you have any questions/comments feel free to contact me.
reminder this weeks casuals will be at Pitzer collage. i will bring 3 monitors and 3 consoles with me. 1xAE 1xMvC3 1xSF3OE Binkley will also bring a system and monitor. if OneManGenocide is able to make it he will also bring a monitor and console. check the post above for directions and info. we will be streaming and run elim brackets.
i can bring my monitor and my console if needed so let me know
How did things work out at Pitzer College?
Binkley, was this the same place the SC3 regional were held back in the day?
Will try to make it out next week.
I think things worked out pretty well at Pitzer. It wasn’t the same room as the SC3 regional, it’s a smaller room but there are couches which is apparently a big plus.
If we do have a tourney at Pitzer, it will definitely have to be in a different room because the room for casuals is not much bigger than the space at Monstore.
We need to figure out how to get a stream going to take advantage of the good internet connection.
this week casuals will be held once again at Pitzer. BYOC and post up if your coming through
check post #529 above for all the information on the location.
casuals will run from 5:30PM to Midnight once again.
did i mention we have couches now? woooooooo…
yo mando r u gonna try to stream this coming saturday?
1st time I have a saturday off in months, so imma make it through. I’ve only been with you guys twice at the monstore and it was a nice chill place, but I’m glad this new place has couches (haha) can’t wait to check it out.
yeh OneManGenocide is helping me take equipment to casuals today so i will be able to bring the stream setup.
we should have 6 setups up and running tonight.
First off i would like to thank Huber for supporting the FGC in the I.E. from day 1 and having our backs when shit got tough. i would also like to thank the owners old and new of Shuffle & Cut/Monstore for supporting the FGC in the I.E. for the past 2+ years
the last 2 yeas at this venue have been a hell of a ride, meet a whole bunch of new people there. and i would like to thank each and every one that made it to casuals & tournaments and those of you that continue to support us today.
so for the people that don’t know this week the store will be closing and they will be moving to a new location and the FGC will not be moving with them.
our community instead will be moving to a much better accommodating location. we have been running casuals from this location for the past 2 weeks now and every one that come to it loves it. within the week i will be closing this thread and will be creating a new one with all the new updated information on Saturdays sessions.
again i would just like to thanks Shuffle & Cut/Monstore for all the support!
