Ryu/Polymar 5HC 20% Baroque 118 hit 100% Combo

You don’t even need BBQ for that combo, unless you are getting the damage out of it.

Here is a really good combo using the Hurricane Emblems, this combo can be done anywhere but works better in the corner. If not done in the corner you must dash after the 6~4A.

IAD.C, 5A, 5B, 2B, 5C, 236C(x4), BBQ, 5A, 5B, 2B, 5C, 6~4A, 5A, 5B, 5C, 3C, j.A, j.A, j.B, j.B, JC, j.B, j.B, Shinkuu Kakategoma.

This does about 90% damage, uses 1 special bar, 3 Hurricane Emblems, and 10% Baroque!! VIDEO SOON

Yeah that’s a pretty standard combo for Polimar uses. Not that that’s a bad thing, aside from the fact of using all 3 emblems, it’s a strong combo and really practical, easily usable in a real fight

Browsed a few pages and didn’t see this explained:
I saw someone do 2C into 6C into the 4~6 move in a corner combo. How was that done? By the way, I use a Gamecube pad. Thanks.

Press backward straight out of the 2C so it doesnt do a ‘Razor Chain Kicks’ and asoon as you use the 6C start charging backward so its ready in time.

Should look like
2C, 46C, 4~6A (I dont know about heavier versions of 4~6)

Epic Polimar goodness.

Man I’m having a lot of trouble with Polimar getting in. Do you guys think he has to have an assist like ryu to be viable? I’m pretty sure I’m gonna drop him from my Zero team just because I have too much trouble getting inside. It seems like he’s got no good anti air, his IAD stuff loses to… everyone elses IAD stuff, and his ground game is super lacking in terms of pokes. All his specials are unsafe… I mean… outside of get in and mix up, what are you supposed to do with polimar? And that’s IF you can get in. A big if.

It takes lots of patience to get used to Polimar’s lack of safe stuff. My ground game really revolves around his dashed 2C slide into Handou Sandangeri combos which can be extended in the corner (with an assist, without an assist with red life to baroque) and midscreen. Polimar 2C actually beats out many jabs and wins in some pushblock situations.

Any single-hitting horizontal assist is great for Polimar (assists like Ippatsuman, Ryu, Morrigan, Alex), as are any anti-air assists. I prefer single-hitting horizontals for combo extensions.

His air normals… In air-to-air fights, j.A has given me the most success. Don’t let it’s awkward look fool you. It actually has some horizontal range to it and can box in opponents in the the corner.

I’ll try to get into more detail later.

Could anyone tell me some viable lvl3 combo’s? I’ve just recently picked up TvC and atm I’m liking the Joe/Polymar combo but I haven’t got used to the combo system yet

Which Joe? Either way, V.Joe/Condor both go well with Polimar. Polimar’s assist has something great to offer to both characters.

Combo’ing level 3 super… Polimar’s level 3 super can be solo combo’ed off of:
-5C (on standing opponents; might miss crouching opponents)
-(in the corner) 6C/Emblem B overheads

Ah yeah, I forgot there were 2 Joe’s in TvC hehe. I mean Viewtiful Joe. Thanks for the tips, good thing it combo’s off of 5C, shouldn’t be too hard to get into then. Need to get back into training mode. :slight_smile:

Or something like that. I’m having trouble with the jumping C (I’m guessing it being in caps means it’s actually another jump). I do the launcher, super jump cancel, j.a, j.b, j.b, but then when I jump again en do J.C 90% of the time it whiffs, and the 10% it connects it sends my opponent flying towards the ground and I seem to fly off of the screen for some reason, meaning I cannot connect any more hits after it. What am I doing wrong here?

If you hold j on your 2nd j.b, you should JC more consistant. Also, it’s JC for jump cancel. Not jump.C. Do another j.b after the cancel. j.C is spiking your opponent to the ground.

That’s me having a ‘‘Duh!’’ moment. Jump cancelling is working, I’m getting it down now, thanks! I need to check back into this topic more often, some useful tips being posted here :slight_smile:

any polymar/joe the condor players? i love both chars individually but they seem to be lacking in team synergy

some stuff ive been messing around with:

if you do polymar’s 623C (the double kick/backflip kick) on or just above the ground, you can combo into joe’s assist, then dash up w/ polymar and launch and continue the combo

so the combo ive been doing is A, B, 2B, C, 1C (to charge wallbounce), 6A (i use light wallbounce since it has the least recovery, i wonder if the other ones work just as well), dash up 2A, B, 2B, C, 623 C, C, (partner, not sure what the exact timing to call it in is but i usually do it between the first two kicks of 623C), 214C, dash up 3C, then w/e air combo

if i get it down consistently then the 6-7k damage boost will definitely be worth it

and on joes side, you can do a standard ground combo to C and then do 236A and call in polymar assist immediately, then wait a split second and do 236C, this bounces them off the wall and i usually just go straight to launch after that

The part I bold’ed is exactly what Polimar needs if you ever want to do assist combos. I’ve been doing it since CGoH :cool:. However, Polimar doesn’t need red life to do that combo, but the combo only works outside of corners.

Condor Joe’s assist gives Polimar some much need anti-air coverage as well as keeps opponents from jumping and leaves them on the ground, allowing Polimar to do some of his great ground mixup tactics!

As for Condor Joe on point, that’s exactly what do, too. It might be useful to point out that if the Polimar assist combo hits in the corner, backdash first before you do Condor Joe’s 236C wallbounce. You kinda have to shorten his combos whenever you launch after his wallbounce kick unfortunately.

yeah, joes assist is good for anti air but i really wish it was at a shallower angle, a lot of the time people IAD and they’re still safe from joe’s assist

That’s why I see it work how it should usually only at max distance.
