Vs. DUMB MAGICIAN!!! (Dr. Strange)
This matchup is actually 7-3 towards Banner as long as you remember one thing…Shadow His Ass! If he gets space, pressure with Gamma Charges and a projectile assist. If he throws out his arsenal trying to space you, jump-cancel dash and hit him with air :s: to start a combo. If he does get enough time to pull off the Eye there are two ways to respond; 1, Gamma Charge. 2, stay back and bait him to teleport in, then punish. Never Superjump against Strange unless he’s high in the air and you need to swat him down. The key is to keep pressure up with Gamma Charge if there’s separation. It has super armor meaning there’s a good chance you can pick up assists like Vergil’s Rapid Slash and damage them. If you don’t give the good Doctor a chance to do spells, Hulk will have no problem SMASHING him.
Well after playing Infrit the other day I can see how the match up might be in Hulks favor, the problem is the start of the round. If you can keep Strange locked down then it becomes a bad match for hulk. Strange has f+H (the physical counter) and if he gets that on hulk then it’s a dead hulk.
Granted I’ve been fucked over more times then I can count by Strange’s f+H counter, it’s not free for him if you sort of expect it. In the cases when I know the he will likely use the counter, I can just buffer in an anti-air Gamma Charge. Strange’s counter is a teleport and doesn’t actually do a hit. Now doing this on reaction is hard, but if you start to read the Strange player, then it isn’t that bad and can make you either safe or get a full on punish to his counter.
