good post, dx169. people should know about stuff like that.
You and I both! Let me know if you have any ideas lol
That’s pretty good to know about, I’ve heard stories that they got rid of their price difference policy.
You can still do that?
Great find!
Damn that’s so frickin low for these sticks. Anyone who doesn’t have a HRAP style stick would be crazy to pass these up. These style cases ALONE go for 50-60 dollars used in our Trading forum (and that’s for the uglier, harder to mod T5s, which most people gut). With the Sanwa/Seimitsu parts and current gen PCBs these things are easily worth 140. Remember that unlike the Madcatz TE’s, the PCBs on these rarely die. Not to say the TE’s are bad (I love mine), but it’s just one less thing to worry about.
BTW to answer a few questions: The 360 stick is not common ground (so no dual modding unless you change the PCB), and for some reason the wires are soldered onto the joystick. Not a big problem though really.
Don’t forget if you get the EX SE to take off the second gate for a better feel. I also re-arranged the QDs for a normal button layout. Sure it might confuse newbies who have to look at the labels since they’ll be wrong, but I like having all my sticks use a standard layout so I don’t have to change settings all the time.
Well for those interested here’s our little email conversation on Amazon. My original message:
“Hello, I have just ordered a Real Arcade Pro 3-SA off of Amazon and I am very happy with the item but can’t help but feel I was somehow cheated of 30 dollars. On Thanksgiving weekend, the price for the item was 90 dollars. I was going to buy it the moment I saw that price drop but by the time I got the money together, the price shot back up to 120. On Friday, which is when I placed the order on the item, I bought the item for the original $120 price. I am satisfied with the item which arrived yesterday and have no complaints until I just saw that this item is now back to $90, the exact day I received my item after ordering it just a few days later. As we all know, money is VERY difficult to come across nowadays and I can’t help but feel cheated out of those $30. Is there anything you can do for me that can get me that money or at least some of it “back” to me? Thank you very much and I hope you do understand how frustrating my situation is.”
They replied
"Hello from Amazon.com.
Thanks for contacting us about the recent price change on “PS3 Real Arcade Pro. 3-SA”. I recognize you have a choice of retailers and appreciate that you prefer to order from us. Unfortunately, we do not have a post-order price guarantee.
I’ve reviewed your order and see that the price change is significant from the time the item shipped.
Under the circumstances, I’ll make a one-time exception for you and issue a refund for the price difference in the amount of $30. You should see the refund in the next 2-3 business days.
Please understand that I’m issuing this refund because of the exceptional circumstances, and I’m doing this for you against our standard policy." and the rest of the message is pretty uninteresting.
And also, my Amazon now says
"Refunds
Refund date: December 8, 2009
Refund Amount: $30.00
"
If I check my order.
I’ve never heard this before. Is this the consensus?
Dont think so, feels the same for me
Seimitsu LS-32(-01) is better Square with the Dark Blue off.
Oh i see. Is the diameter of the actuator on the shaft even small enough to touch the dark blue gate though?
I’m thinking I prefer the double gate feel.
Should I change the artwork on my HRAP 3 SA? I want it to be as unique as possible without changing all the buttons and stick since I feel they’re both good for now.
Great find on the price drop! Do you guys know how long it’ll stay at that price?
I’d love to, but I don’t think I can hop in on it. Sick deal though.
does the panel scratch ez on here as it did on the regular ex?
If I were you, I’d take advantage of the current price asap. I waited a few days and the price went back up to $120. And so far mine hasn’t scratched at all yet. Then again, I haven’t used it much yet because I’ve been busy.
EX-SE’s top panel is scratch-resistant. It’s got a sort of tempered matte texture and isn’t gloss black like the vanilla EX.
Yes, it’ll touch and you’ll feel them.
Yeah I decided to make an order for it. I couldn’t pass this deal up!
