Yea, you’ll need the S mounting plate to mount the stick at the correct height.

Has anybody else tried to mod the SA? I just opened it and the nuts are PROTECTED! From the picture I saw on the first page of this thread, the old HRAP2’s nuts are not. Here are some pictures (sorry for the bad quality…):
Sorry if this was already posted.

HRAP2:SA actually has a hole on the top of the bolts for an allen wrench. Makes taking off the top panel pretty easy.

I actually thought of this for a second, but then I figured that since HORI was trying to prevent modding, that wasn’t the case. I thought that they just messed up the threading on a regular screw. Thanks for clearing it up, though.
any tips on how to put your own artwork on top? Also, can I just get a jlf octagonal plate and put it in the stick? These are the parts Im wanting to put it
Seimitsu PS-14-KN buttons
Sanwa GT-Y Octagonal Restrictor Plate
Seimitsu PS-14-DN for the start and select buttons
Seimitsu LB-39 Clear Joystick Ball Top

Those parts will fit in just fine.
As for the artwork, you have 2 options (maybe more)
A) Get some artwork printed on adhesive vinyl, lamilabel, maybe even photo paper + add your own adhesive to the back. Then, peel off the HRAP2 sticker, exposing the bare metal underneath, and get rid of any left over adhesive. Stick on new art.
B) Get artwork printed on photo paper and buy a sheet of lexan. Peel off HRAP2 sticker, clean off leftover adhesive, place artwork on top, then lexan.
Remember to take off balltop and buttons before peeling off the sticker. Also, you don’t need the artwork printed with the layout or anything since you can use the metal plate as a stencil.
Thanks a lot man. Is there any disadvantage to not having plexi or lexan on top? Im not familiar with adhesive vinyl or lamilabel but Im sure that if I used photopaper with nothing on top of it my wrists/hands would stick to it.

Adhesive Vinyl/Lamilabel won’t stick to your hands and are both pretty durable. And you’re right about the bare photo paper. Might be a chance that the ink will rub off too.
Last question…maybe, Im not diggin the white. Looking at the pictures it looks like all the white that shows is one piece. Is there any reason to not paint it black? If not, what kind of paint would u suggest. I just want it flat and shiny, no texture.

You can ask someone with an HRAP1 (maybe Tekken 5 stick as well) to swap cases. Other than that, I guess you can paint. You’ll have to work for that shininess though. You might be able to follow this page to paint your case. Someone correct me if I’m wrong since I don’t know anything about painting and whatnot.
Yup, that’s the link I often send noobs to when they ask about painting, although I thinks it’s overkill for HRAP.
For mildly shiny with no added texture, use vinyl dye…

if you throw a sanwa s plate in a hrap 3 can you fit a ls-32 in it?

IIRC, the holes for the mounting plate on a JLF are wayyy different than a LS-32, so no. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.
Would I need to sand the case or anything if Im using vinyl dye? I think Im gonna use that glossy vinyl dye that that page mentioned.
Also, will screw in buttons fit? No one has clear snap ins in stock

So I decided to get a hrap3 the amazon japan one. I wanted to replace the buttons with sanwa which ones fit?
Sanwa OBSF-30 Pushbutton with Vertical Microswitch threaded or un threaded
and Sanwa OBSF-24 Pushbutton with Vertical Microswitch threaded or un threaded.
also which plugs would be best to use sanwa or seimitsu any difference?
Also are they the same as the start and select buttons?
Thanks in advance…

Both Sanwa snap-ins and screw-ins will work, but keep in mind that screwing in the button for X will be tight, so you’ll need to sand the nut down a bit. To avoid all of this, just use Sanwa snap-ins (OBSF). This goes for all of the buttons, start/select and action.
There is barely a difference in the plugs. They both do what they’re intended to do, plug up holes. I believe Seimitsu plugs are less convex or have more texture on them. I don’t really remember. You can ask akihabarashop or look at their photos.
