How to make the Hori FightingStick EX2 work on Windows

Is there anyway of getting my 360 Dead or Alive 4 stick to work in windows as well?

It keeps giving me Direct3D and Direct input errors…

The entire thread is dedicated to getting it to work on Windows.

And if you’re getting Direct3D errors, it looks like you have much more important problems than getting your stick to work.

For those still struggling (with Vista, I’ll try and troubleshoot)…

If your stick is still being recognized as a Hori EX Fighting stick, this is NOT good. You want it to be a XBCD controller. Uninstall everything and follow the same steps.

Tried that profile along with the previous one but Melty Blood/B.B.Beat still doesn’t recognize the 2 buttons. It’s probably just the game since others seem to work fine.

I have that same problem mcginnis, I’m trying to figure it out

the LT/RT are treated as triggers, even though the profile says otherwise.

Finally got it sorted on Vista, just had to uninstal it’s original recognizing it as a joystik, then do all the XBCD stuff.

Now, to getting it to work with MAME…

Let me know when you get it working, I’m out of ideas.:wasted:

I got it working and it works great for some games including kawaks

However i recently found that i can play SFIII on MAME but whatever i try, i cant get the commands to register on it. Anyone have any suggestions?
BTW this is the first time using MAME in a long time

P.S.-I tried Xpadder w multiple settings

Re-read the thread and set up the controller with the XBCD drivers. That will get it to work with MAME.

i did check out the thread and thats how it helped me get it working with kawaks and it is installed w/ XBCD, it works for most MAME games but SFIII so im guessing its a game specific problem, just wondering if anyone else can help or had the same problem

I’ve got my Hori stick working fine with SF3, doing supers and everything. Check the properties to make sure joystick is enabled, set all the buttons using tab and all that.

Im purchasing one of these sticks. good to find this thread!

thanks McFightMan, i got it working

Why won’t it let me edit the inf file on Vista?

Puffy: You need to open up Notepad as an admin (right click on it and select “Run as administrator”) to be able to save the inf file.

So has anybody managed to make this work for MAME or something like Melty Blood? The two bottom right buttons, I mean.

Download the XBCD profile linked in the first post. Then run XBCD Setup in the start menu and load the downloaded profile into the program.

Yeah it wasn’t showing that as an option when I right clicked. I found another roundabout way to do it though. Stupid Vista.

Already did that and yea, it fixed it for a few games like EFZ but didn’t do anything for Mame and Melty.

i’m having a weird problem where i was able to edit the .inf file no problem, installed it, then when i go to update the driver, i literally point to XBCD.inf and the service will not recognize it as a driver to be updated. because of this i can’t finish the last two steps of the process, frustrating. any advice??
