Allright sweet! and yeah jint, im serious about hyping tvc. as a matter a fact, im going to hype this event on AIF :3:cool:
Hey back on topic damnit.
SOMEONE PICK ME UP FROM ILLINOIS AND TAKE ME TO SOCAL.
yeah let’s get back on topic. any more ideas anybody; like hyping methods? and LOL DUDE! If someone does pick you up, your permanently staying lol
the best way to get a huge scene going is by hosting a party with strippers. host a tournament that starts the second they all show up. if they lose, they have to leave the party. tell them there will be a weekly event just like this with a ‘grand prize’ for the big tournament in a few months. that way they’ll all be practicing like crazy!
Thats the point lol
And fucking Rotanibor(Rob) needs to get his stream up. And I’m building a computer that will take me a while to build but when I finish I’m going to have some streams hopefully. People make streams please!! its really cheap to do so. Easycap 5 - 20 dollars on Amazon and you can use the generic ass ustream apps with a cheap ass mic.
Me, I’m trying to get wirecast but so far these torrent are being shady and MALICIOUS!! And I need to get a different capture card cause this one isn’t capable with any stream site. FUCK YOU MPEG-4
SoCal dudes, you still meet at Dreamlab?
Great thread. I would agree with most everything you’ve said about introducing newer players to the competitive scene and taking it easy on them until they’re situated with the game & helping the community grow. However, I disagree with the tournament spectating option, only because I think letting them play in their 1st tournament will allow them to start their learning curve. Your friend(s) or new people you bring into the community may or may not be talking trash but it is a good idea to let him/her experience true competitive experience.
Concepts like pressuring, execution, and etc are things you cannot teach through words but only through experience. Not saying that you aren’t doing that later, but I am saying they should play in the 1st tourney they go to only to show them how far they must train mentally and where they’re at now. Let them gauge it for themselves. If they truly love the game then even when they lose ( or probably win ), they will be at a mindset where they’re willing to learn.
Also, don’t trash Smash bros unless you’re specifically trashing “brawl”. Melee and sb64 are actually really good games. Yes, I do mean word for word brawl specific and not just “smash bros” cause you’re targeting the entire series. That’s like saying “Marvel vs Capcom sucks” but you meant MVC1. You’re just asking for flames, lol.
i totally agree with you. i just hate the type of people who lost faith easily yknow it’s stupid -__- and meh, about the whole smash flame no one else pointed it out or cared but you have a point. melee and 64 were good smash games.

Yes, a few of us TvC folks head over to Dreamlabs every Tuesday. Its kind of varied now, thanks to WNF, but there are a few who try to make it. Hit up people like ll.nd, DevilChrist, RoyalFlush, Phampy, or Rotanibor since they make the trek over to there.
Looks good! I will actually try this.
lol@ the brawl hate xDDD
shit is dead here on EC, and tbh I’m part of the problem
Find more victims to play with. Bait them with candy. Problem solved. =P
the norcal tvc scene is lightweight growing lol
trying to get more people to play is tough as hell especially out here cause everyones too hard headed and cool to even try it out! lmao
i wonder why more brawl players havent switched to tvc yet…lame
Yeah, I can’t get any of my brawl-playing friends to get into TvC because “it’s too complicated”. sigh
lol, I don’t know why smash players don’t get into this game either, it’s so fun. I’m a melee/brawl player myself, and I’m struggling to get people to get into this game too, which is a shame.
I’ve managed to convert a bunch of my Brawl playing friends into TvC players. They wanted to play Brawl and I said “sorry, I dont play casual games” and put in TvC. We played all summer and had a blast. One of them went and bought the game as soon as the summer ended.
I still love Brawl, but its a party fighter. I like TvC waaaay more.
I’m glad to hear some growth. I think this game will have a nice underground community. : )
