What’s with the emo-ness? One idiot “bashed” on you (which you should ignore), and then a mod told you guys to stop fighting. Not sure why “all” of us should be happy…
Okay I was getting ready to come up with a good answer for his problem, until I read that he plays Sagat. Dude sagat is the king of annoyance when it comes to fireball zoning ( i said “zoning” instead of spamming because people throw a bitch fit) In cvs2 he’s even more frustrating to play against.
TIGER TIGER TIGER…
So your opponent is throwing a fireball.
The safest thing to do is to throw fireballs right back at him. It builds meter. It’s a good time. If you have the lifelead, you’ve successfully gained the advantage by draining the clock one second closer to the finish. You CAN fireball on reaction, but that might not be the case against faster :hp: projectiles (Depending on your reactions and distance from the opponent). After the first, players choose to usually fall into a rhythm to make sure they don’t lose frame advantage, or they wait to confirm the opponent is throwing a fireball before canceling it out with their own.
In certain situations at certain distances, you can’t wait to throw out your own fireball. Look at Dhalsim vs. Ryu. Dhalsim can tag Ryu under his fireball with cr.HP on reaction, or even instant-air Teleport for a sexy full-damage punish on prediction. This means if Ryu throws a fireball within cr.HP range, and Dhalsim hasn’t done the same, he can get tagged by limbs. This is also the same if Ryu waits to confirm too long that Dhalsim is throwing a fireball, because Dhalsim will recover soon enough to throw out a cr.HP in Ryu’s fireball recovery.
Some characters have attacks that simply punch through fireballs on reaction. Sagat’s Tiger Cannon, Rufus’ Big Bang Typhoon, Dudley’s Rolling Thunder and Abel’s Soulless are a few Ultra’s that do it rather well, while others may require some tighter spacing/reactions. There are normal and EX moves peppered throughout each character’s arsenal that allow for it as well. You can also go for a jump-in for big (Albeit risky) damage, and Focus Absorb followed by dashing forward or backwards, to build revenge/make space.
For Sagat, you beat fireballs with your own. You recover so fast, and if you need to press forward, throw an EX Tiger Shot. Unless the opponent has their own two-hit fireball out, you’ll eat through it and can use the split second to get a dash or two in from full-screen. If they stop throwing fireballs and do other things, congratulations, you’ve stopped them from throwing fireballs.
i play sagat too and im new to the game , when i play i zone half the match and when they get scared and go for ultras mid to full screen i make the kill !
